The Prospect Data Analyst works closely with the Associate Director of Prospect Management and the Prospect Management and Research team, to provide and report on analyses drawn from data on the university's constituency and fundraising activity. The target audiences for these reports are the Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) department's gift officers, leadership team and executive team. The Prospect Data Analyst also develops and manages relationships with gift officers, as their portfolios are analyzed and optimized throughout the year. Additional responsibilities include ensuring data confidentiality, data quality, and data integrity; ad-hoc reports; and special projects as assigned. 1. Prospect Management Support
*Learn and practice the advancement field's best practices for prospect management (per APRA standards)
*Learn and practice high standards of data confidentiality, data quality and data integrity
*Create prospect pools for Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) teams and initiatives
*Manage prospect pipeline data
*Provide data analyses and comprehensive reports about prospects

2. Major Gift Portfolios and Portfolio Reviews
*Develop and manage supportive relationships with gift officers
*Create, analyze and optimize gift officer portfolios throughout the year
*Assist gift officers with prospect development and engagement strategies

3. Data Management and Project Support
*Utilize various software tools (Excel, Tableau, SQL, etc...) to access prospect data in various systems
*Provide routine audits on the integrity and completeness of prospect data
*Provide ad-hoc prospect management reports, and technical assistance as needed
*Participate in special projects as assigned
*Participate in the implementation of a new CRM system

Special Considerations

This position may be eligible for a fully remote work arrangement pending University approval

Overtime may be needed on occasion due to unforeseen trip preparation briefing needs

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts, Statistics, Economics, Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Three to five years related work experience

Familiarity with prospect management, preferably in a higher education context

Familiarity with Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar,
Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)

Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Familiarity with Excel and/or Google Sheets

Strong oral and written communication skills

Analytical personality with an interest in advancing data analysis skills

Strong, ongoing commitment to understanding and protecting data confidentiality

Proven organizational, prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills

Experience (1-3 years) academically or professionally working with datasets (i.e.; collecting, analyzing, reporting, cleaning and securing data) preferred, but not required

Ability to work independently for extended periods of time

Proven ability to work as a collaborative team player

Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
