Primary Responsibilities
Creative Commons is looking for a skilled, proactive, and creative Individual Giving Manager to grow our portfolio of major and small dollar gifts. The Individual Giving Manager will report to the Director of Development. They will be responsible for small and major donor prospecting, cultivation, and communications to include direct appeals, digital fundraising campaigns, and in-person asks.
The Individual Giving Manager will:

Manage and grow base of major donors
who give $1,000 or more, cultivating prospects in our existing
pipeline while also identifying new ones
Conduct major gift qualification
calls and meetings alongside the Director of Development, COO, CEO,
and other key CC staff
Manage donor communications,
including a quarterly newsletter, direct mail campaign, email
solicitations, and other case-by-case correspondences
Oversee the development of biannual
fundraising campaigns in June/July and November/December, sending
up to 25 email communications annually, incorporating clear
segmentation strategies and follow-up analysis and
reporting
Manage Classy donation pages and
administration, working with the Development team to ensure timely
documentation and gift acknowledgments to major donors, follow-up
etc.
Manage, track, and expand pool of
third party giving platforms like Fidelity, Every.org
etc.
Work closely with Communications to
ensure integration of fundraising language and asks on key social
media platforms, the blog, CC website, and event registration pages
and follow-up emails
Conduct regular and extensive
analysis of existing donor data in Salesforce and Windfall,
identifying and implementing narrative, segmentation, and targeting
strategies
Travel with organization leadership,
as needed, to provide support during in-person donor meetings
Assist with other fundraising
projects as needed
Desired Skills & Qualifications

5+ years nonprofit experience with a
focus on major donor cultivation and/or digital fundraising
*Individuals who are quick, self-guided learners with 5+ years
experience in sales, digital marketing, or campaigning are also
encouraged to apply
Outstanding writing and communication
skills in English with a knack for translating complex concepts and
jargon into simple, easy to understand language
Demonstrated ability to build
relationships with donors
Experience developing fundraising
campaigns on platforms like MailChimp (or ActionKit) with know-how
in A/B testing, segmentation, and targeting
Comfortable with Salesforce and other
software systems used for fundraising
Familiarity with Excel, Classy,
Windfall, and ActionKit are highly desired
Exceptional attention to detail and
task follow-through
Ability to balance deadlines and
near-term projects while advancing long-lead efforts
Ability to work collaboratively with
individuals and teams across different areas of subject matter
expertise
An interest in CC’s work and
legacy
Ability and enthusiasm for working in
a fully remote and independent environment
Basic graphic design skills a
plus

Work Environment & Location
Creative Commons has been a fully-distributed organization since 2015— we have no central office. This position is in a remote working environment. You must be located in the United States or Canada, but priority given to candidates located in New York City, the San Francisco Bay Area, Chicago, and Austin. You must have reasonable mobility for necessary global travel and high-speed broadband access. A laptop and peripherals are supplied.

The base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 USD, commensurate with relevant skills and experience.
