About the Role

To advance Understood's mission and further our impact, we are seeking a passionate, experienced, and entrepreneurial Senior Manager, Everyday Giving to drive our efforts that focus on individual giving. Reporting to our Head of Integrated Marketing, this role will craft ongoing strategies to grow our everyday giving program while ensuring we set and deliver on our annual goals. This unique opportunity blends development, marketing, and communication skills in an effort to drive awareness of Understood.org as a public charity to move our supporters through the donation journey. This role will closely collaborate with our Email, Product, Social, Content, and Analytics teams, and there will be a dotted line to the major gifts officer to ensure collaboration and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead our everyday giving program from start to finish, including planning, execution, measurement, and reporting
  • Serve as squad leader - the central point person with one direct report - to drive activities forward with key stakeholders and functions, including email, social media, product, analytics, and more
  • Support the development of the donor journey and lifecycle
  • Collaborate with the Advancement Team to set consistent processes, ensure knowledge sharing, and a unified approach to donor engagement
  • Develop reports that detail progress made toward quarterly and annual goals; present reports, insights, and actions to executive leadership
  • Follow key giving trends and apply best practices to our work 
  • Manage, produce, coordinate, and implement direct appeals that could include, but not limited to social, direct mail, email, and other digital campaigns.
  • Identify, test, and evaluate various approaches to increase donor acquisition and retention
  • Set key performance indicators to inform testing,  
  • Lead with a metrics-driven approach, and consistently looking for ways to demonstrate ROI
  • Oversee the reporting, CRM, and administrative efforts for everyday donors
  • Operate and execute within budget parameters

Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of experience in donor relations, individual giving, or advancement
  • Experience crafting and executing Cause Marketing campaigns tied to cultural moments such as Giving Tuesday.
  • People management experience
  • Experience creating and executing campaigns that have delivered a clear impact of dollars raised
  • Working knowledge of integrated marketing and communications as related to the engagement of donors

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Sharp strategic thinking that analyzes the relationship between our communications and the broader strategic goals of the business, ability to formulate and defend a position in conversation with Co-Presidents and executive leadership team.
  • Proactive approach to knowledge sharing and problem-solving
  • Self-starter able to learn and operate quickly and effectively in a decentralized organization.
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail and a proven ability to manage multiple work streams at once.
  • Extremely strong interpersonal, written communication, and organizational skills.

The base salary range for this role is minimum $94,000.00 - $120,000.00 maximum, depending on the department, years of experience, and qualifications.
