Who We Are

IREX is a global development and education organization. We strive for a more just, prosperous, and inclusive world—where individuals reach their full potential, governments serve their people, and communities thrive. With a projected annual portfolio of more than $100 million and more than 600 staff worldwide, we work with partners in more than 100 countries in four areas essential to progress: cultivating leaders, empowering youth, strengthening institutions, and increasing access to quality education and information.

IREX seeks a strategic, innovative and collaborative Director of Strategic Partnerships who will work across IREX to design ambitious, new initiatives and build donor support for them. A self-starter, the Director will continually identify and assess new opportunities to expand IREX’s impact. The Director will spearhead new partnerships with foundation, corporate, and individual donors to raise funds in support of IREX’s mission by leveraging traditional and new models of engagement. The successful candidate will have experience with the philanthropic and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) communities, social impact investing, and/or development finance, as well as an understanding of global development and education. The successful candidate will catalyze momentum across IREX’s Strategy and Development Group to develop and execute an overall fundraising strategy and will drive positioning efforts, outreach, philanthropic and CSR market assessments, partnership cultivation and fundraising to achieve the key outcomes of that strategy. The Director will work with professionals across IREX to cultivate a spirit of entrepreneurship and support colleagues in developing new initiatives in areas of priority to IREX. The Director will also maintain a broad understanding of international development, IREX’s comparative advantage, and IREX’s operating environment. This is a role that combines strategy, program design and development, coalition and relationship building, the generation and acquisition of new revenue, and team leadership.

We are doers. Our decades of on-the-ground experience help us create greater impact, practical recommendations, and lasting partnerships.
