WORK SCHEDULE:                                            Full time/40 hours a week – Monday to Friday; some evenings and weekends required

WORK LOCATION:                                           Los Angeles. Some in-person office time, meetings, and event attendance required.

STATUS: (Exempt/Non-Exempt):               Exempt. Starts at $1,461.54/week, equivalent to $76,000.08 annualized.

POSITTION SUMMARY

Center Theatre Group seeks a development professional to join the company’s Institutional Advancement team as Associate Director of Annual Giving & Operations, reporting to the Director of Annual Fund & Operations. This position oversees all communication needs for the department and works with the Director of Annual Fund & Operations to manage the successful operation of a robust individual annual fund/ membership program including solicitation, cultivation and stewardship of donors up to the major gift level, while also providing operational support to the Major Gifts team.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Management 

  • Supervise Donor Stewardship & Communications Coordinator and Advancement Operations Assistant.

 

Planning and Strategy 

  • Create and maintain IA Department Communications calendar and assign all related tasks
  • Manage audience segmentation strategy for IA communications, and for donor inclusion in cross-departmental communications
  • Plan and manage individual giving Special Appeals, e.g. year-end (all channels) 
  • Plan and manage membership renewals process for Friends and Insiders (all channels); Provide Major Gifts team with resources for Visionaries renewal process
  • Plan and manage subscription/ticket related solicitations and donor communications
  • Oversee donor stewardship strategy—including acknowledgements, donor recognition, reporting, mailed and in-person gifts—and benefits fulfillment  
  • Maintain documentation for Stewardship & Communications systems and processes

 

Communications Content and Collateral 

  • Oversee copywriting and messaging for IA communications
  • Manage the creation of all new printed IA materials and maintain inventory of all stationery and collateral
  • Supervise the creation of all IA Wordfly emails and digital assets
  • Oversee the maintenance of IA content for CTG website 
  • Create and maintain Classy donation webpages 

 

Tessitura and Data 

  • Build and manage IA Extractions, Lists and Output Sets in Tessitura, and collaborate on cross-departmental data segmentation
  • Manage promotion of all communications to Tessitura to track response rates, and oversee the use Wordfly email analytics to measure against benchmarks and establish best practices
  • Maintain membership-related scheduled reports and utilities in Tessitura
  • Manage Constituencies and Attributes for IA in Tessitura 
  • Complete ad hoc data pull requests
  • Support reporting needs as related to membership renewal and acquisition rates
  • Support annual data audit and Tessitura systems set-up for managing and tracking solicitations and communications

 

Other 

  • Act as primary liaison to Printer and Mail House  
  • Act as primary liaison to Communications/Marketing/Graphics  
  • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to CTG’s equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives and values and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to an anti-racist work culture

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five or more years of fundraising experience, with a proven track record in growing annual fund and/or membership giving.
  • Advanced knowledge of CRM database systems in a performing arts non-profit (Tessitura preferred) and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Previous successful supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ideal candidate will be an exceptional problem solver with both a creative mind and analytical skillset, and a passion for the mission of Center Theatre Group.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit, type and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to communicate through incoming and outgoing phone calls.
  • Willingness and ability to work 40 hours per week. Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
