Engagement and Research Coordinator
Salary Range: $74,600/yr. - $141,000/yr.
Under general direction, responsible for understanding the Resnick Agricultural Innovation Research Fund’s goals, capacities, and industry needs to encourage research and innovation by faculty, agricultural producers, food companies, pharmaceutical companies, commodity boards, and other stakeholders interested in pistachio, almond, and pomegranate by-products through facilitating the awarding of competitive research grants as part of an annual Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
Function with a high degree of autonomy. Under the direction of leadership, coordinate the RFP Process, including overseeing the engagement of industry and stakeholders, notification of awards, tracking, and production of communications related to the goals and outcomes of the Research Projects.
Ensure industry partners, researchers, faculty, stakeholders, and leaders are informed throughout all aspects of the Resnick Agricultural Innovation Research Fund’s activities. Work closely with leaders, faculty, and stakeholders to generate reporting for the Resnick Agricultural Innovation Research Fund’s annual activities in accordance with established practice and as needed.
Identify and qualify prospective partnerships by assessing interest and evaluating their value to the University. In collaboration with the campus Development Office, advise College Development Officers and Chair about opportunities for major gifts that can expand the College’s programs.
Continue to develop industry partnerships to establish a base of reliable industry partners.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in related area / or equivalent experience or training.
• Experience developing projects and managing outreach activities with strategic planning for outreach and external relations.
• Experience coordinating events and meetings for a diverse group of attendees.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) :
• Knowledge of Request for Proposal (RFP) processes and other applicable processes for managing and coordinating research.
• Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain working relationships with a diverse group at all levels, including colleagues, faculty, donors, and industry partners.
• Strong communication skills including active listening, sensitivity, critical thinking, press relations, public speaking, and development of publications and presentations.
• Productive in work volume, speed, quality, and consistency. Ability to see projects through to completion on deadline and satisfy industry partner and university goals.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Education/Experience:
• Advanced experience working in a university or academic setting on research programs, including RFP, financial processes, reporting and other systems.
• Experience with donor stewardship and reporting.
• Previous experience with industry/research coordination and grantmaking.
• Previous experience in quantitative analysis and financial review.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) :
• Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of managing research funding.
