Our work, in total, has reached more than 31 million children and meaningfully improved the environments that support their physical, social, and emotional health.      Job Purpose – What You Will Do  Reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer (CDO) the Senior Events Manager is responsible for the design, planning and successful production of Healthier Generation’s signature events, ensuring that events are produced and designed to meet fundraising goals, including: 
  • Annual Leaders' Summit | National event for educators, district leaders, students and other community partners.  
  • Regional events inclusive of donor stewardship lunches, regional media and funder events, marketing and partner-led events. 
  • Special Events: Girls in Motion 
  • Additional Organizational Events as they arise 
    Core Responsibilities 
  • Serve as Senior Event Manager responsible for overseeing and supporting Healthier Generation’s events and special initiatives  
  • Produce annual Leaders' Summit, driving revenue toward agency goals: in FY23, $500,000 in FY24+, $1M, with increasing annual goals based on event success. 
  • Manage all logistics, vendors, budgets, contracts, and program execution by establishing and managing project plan including all event logistics and production, from contracts review and negotiations/management of venues. 
  • Drive programming, agendas, scripting, stage management, speaker line-up, participant experience and follow up. 
  • Monitor project plan, mitigate issues that might impact event, and report critical issues to appropriate member of Senior Leadership team.  
  • Ensure consistency in event content quality, strengthening Healthier Generation’s brand, coordinate closely with teammates in Development, Finance, Technology, Program, Virtual Learning, Marketing/Communications, Senior Leaders, and Host/board advisors for Leaders' Summit content and sponsorship packages to ensure deliverables can be met prior to execution of commitments with external parties. 
  • Support CDO in Host Committee management; manage identification, recruitment, communication and stewardship of Leaders' Summit presenters, speakers and attendees. 
  • Work with technology and virtual learning and Marketing and Communications team to deliver high-quality delivery of all event components. 
  • Partner with CDO in convening and leading staff working committee for the Leaders' Summit, comprised of senior leaders and key program and Marketing and Communications staff. 
  • Work in partnership with CDO in ensuring program elements offer value to sponsors. 
  • Work in partnership with CDO on delivering and tracking sponsorship commitments. 
  • Work with Marketing and Communications staff to create and disseminate promotional collateral materials for events including invitations, program, media kits, print ads, broadcast ads, billboards, etc. 
  • Serve as event planner for All Healthier Generation Off-Site and other additional organizational events as required.

    Education and experience requirements for this role: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 
  • At least 6 years of event, development and fundraising experience, with demonstrated success in sponsorship  
  • Experience managing Board members/advisors, executive level volunteers, high profile speakers 
  • Strategic Thinking - Contributes to strategies to achieve organizational goals; Understands organization's strengths & weaknesses; Analyzes market and competition; Identifies external threats and opportunities; Adapts strategy to changing conditions. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and use of spreadsheets  
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or similar/ complex fundraising platforms.  
  • Experience generating philanthropic funding to support youth, families, health or education preferred.  
  • Deep knowledge of nonprofit financial best practices as it relates to fundraising.  
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience with fundraising working at complex, large-scale national-level scale/level  
  • Position requires work outside of “traditional business hours” as needed

  Each job at Healthier Generation is assigned to a salary grade built on market data. For an individual coming into Healthier Generation, we set pay generally between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary grade and based on qualifications.
