Food Bank For New York City seeks an experienced, highly driven, and creative marketing professional to join our External Affairs team as our next Senior Director of Marketing. The successful candidate will have experience and expertise in building awareness and increasing visibility for organizations, brands, or companies. They will have a proven record of accomplishment generating revenue, increasing engagement, and raising awareness for organizations.

 

The new Senior Director, Marketing will champion Food Bank’s work and impact throughout New York City and oversee brand management and campaign development and strategy. The Senior Director will also oversee advertising, media partnerships and sponsorships, as well as support cross marketing opportunities with corporate partners and engagement strategies for Food Bank’s Celebrity Ambassadors. The Senior Director manages a team of four direct reports.

 

This is a hybrid, exempt position with office locations in the Bronx, Harlem, and Lower Manhattan. Key Responsibilities

 Serve as project lead for Food Bank’s annual advertising campaigns and paid media partnerships, sponsorships, and other initiatives focused on revenue generation and brand awareness.

 Manage and coordinate paid and pro bono media campaigns and work with design and media vendors to ensure on time delivery of assets.

 Work with the Communications Director to create and activate marketing strategies for awareness campaigns such as Black History Month, MLK Day of Service, Hunger Action Month, Hispanic heritage Month, Pride Month and others.

 Collaborate with Institutional Giving and Business Partnerships Teams to design, develop, and implement dynamic and exciting co-branded, cause marketing campaigns for Food Bank’s corporate and foundation partners as well as support the promotion of campaigns and activations such as Eat for Good, Food for Thought, Woman to Woman, 5 Borough Challenge, Shape Half Marathon and others.

 Serve as a key member of the Special events Project Team, working closely with colleagues and consultants to design, develop and implement comprehensive event marketing strategies focused on generating revenue and visibility for Food Bank and its partners.

 Work with the Communications Director to oversee the development and creation of engaging, creative, and strategic graphic design and print marketing plans, including the day-to-day production and delivery of all print assets for various programs, activations, and distributions and securing necessary collateral for various campaign activations and Food Bank’s online store.

 Oversee the design and activation of unique brand engagement strategies and leverage Food Bank’s local, national, and international social media influencers to help amplify Food Bank’s work and impact.

 Research and report on local and national marketing trends, keeping Food Bank ahead of new and exciting tools and technologies.

 Monitor, evaluate, and report on campaign progress throughout each campaign cycle.

 Represent Food Bank at various events throughout the year and serve as part of the team “on the ground” at distributions, media events, special events, et al.

 

Skills and Requirements

 Must have a knowledge of and passion for brand and event marketing, graphic and digital design, and social media.

 6 to 8 years’ related experience in brand and social, digital, mobile, out-of-home, and broadcast advertisement and marketing.

 Must have experience and expert understanding of paid media metrics and performance.

 Must have deep understanding of new trends and tactics in the advertisement industry that are relevant to the social impact and nonprofit world.

 Must be detail-oriented and have at least 5 years prior supervisory experience managing and mentoring teams.

 Ability to think creatively, problem-solve and manage multiple, time-sensitive projects.

 Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work collaboratively with stakeholders across our organization.

 Excellent oral and written communication skills.

 Must be a self-starter who works comfortably in a team-oriented environment.

 Previous experience effectively managing external agencies, contractors and contributors preferred.

 Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to project professional competence, leadership capability & personal maturity.

 Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

 Design skills using Adobe Creative Suite are strongly preferred.
