The American Psychiatric Association Foundation is the non profit programming arm of the American Psychiatric Association (APA), and complements the professional work of the APA by administering public outreach programs and support—all aimed at eliminating stigma, overcoming mental illness, and advancing mental health. Through the American Psychiatric Association Foundation’s community-based programs, fellowships, awards and grants, the Foundation address critical mental health needs and direct resources where they are needed most. All of its initiatives focus on one goal: A mentally healthy nation for all.
The American Psychiatric Association Foundation is seeking a Director of Development to set the direction of all APA Foundation (Foundation) development activities and staff related to corporate, foundation, and individual giving and is accountable for the overall business strategy. The incumbent is expected to set comprehensive development goals and execute those goals into achievable steps; manage detailed, complex fundraising campaigns, and make rapid decisions regarding development issues; plan and implement projects, and supervise development team. As a member of the Foundations senior management team, the Director must establish strong and appropriate relationships with the ED, staff, APAF Board of Directors, volunteers, donors and the general community.
