Job Summary
The Director of Alumni Engagement is responsible for the planning and implementation of programs, projects and events that strategically engage Augusta University alumni. It is also responsible for creating new and strengthening existing programs that provide tangible benefits to Augusta University alumni, friends, students and parents.

Serving as an ambassador, the Director of Alumni Engagement is charged with securing commitments from alumni to provide professional expertise and volunteer service; collaborating with colleagues in the administrative offices (including, but not limited to Academic Admissions, Athletics, External Relations and Student Life and Engagement). The director will collaborate with all colleges and schools to create and maintain pathways that engage alumni to advance the goals of the university. The director will partner with colleagues in Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement to help identify, cultivate, solicit and steward alumni giving. The director will serve as a liaison between the Alumni Board(s) of Directors and academic and administrative leadership.

The director will collaborate with all colleges and schools to create and maintain pathways that engage alumni to advance the goals of the university. The director will partner with colleagues in Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement to help identify, cultivate, solicit and steward alumni giving. The director will serve as a liaison between the Alumni Board(s) of Directors and academic and administrative leadership.
Work closely with PAE Information and Data Services colleagues to capture latest contact, biographical and career information on alumni through surveys, events, projects, and various correspondence.
Educate current and graduating students about alumni benefits and engage them in various programmatic activities.
Establish and build relationships with a wide range of alumni locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. Works to maintain regular communication with the alumni base through personal contact, direct mail, e-communication and print publications. Tracks engagement rates based on the various contact methods.
Collaborate with colleagues across campus (Admissions, Athletics, Career Center, Student Life and Engagement and External Affairs) to encourage and enhance alumni engagement.
Manage overall Alumni Engagement Budget within PAE as well as individual Alumni Association Programmatic and Scholarship Funds held in AU's cooperative foundations.
Works collaboratively with the Executive Director of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving to develop and implement both annual strategic and operational plans for alumni engagement. Develop, promote and execute alumni programming that support the University's strategic plan as well as the goals of the annual and comprehensive campaigns in collaboration with Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement (PAE) colleagues and the schools and colleges.
Works closely with and serves as the liaison between the various alumni association boards and societies including: Arrange and staff board/committee meetings, develop board calendars and meeting agendas. Works to identify and develop strong relationships between alumni board members and academic/administrative leadership.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college of university in business, communication, journalism or similar degree in a related field. A minimum 7 years of proven experience in alumni relations, sales, marketing or event planning experience at the level.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college of university. 7 or more years alumni engagement experience in higher education or non-profit organization, specifically experience in alumni engagement, volunteer management, and event planning. Demonstrative success managing boards and executing events.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
Knowledge of alumni engagement programs and alumni board management
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal/written communications skills, attention to detail and analytical abilities
Ability to work effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds, including healthcare professionals, community leaders, as well as, students, patients, families, volunteers and employees

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Pay Grade: 22
Salary: Minimum $64,553/annually- Midpoint $87,147/annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
