We are seeking an experienced fundraising professional to lead Development for a well-known and growing nonprofit in Sonoma. As Development Director, you will lead major gifts, events, and annual giving to advance our mission of serving the region’s 55+ community. We are Vintage House: the central hub for the 55+ community in greater Sonoma. We are not a residential facility. We provide a wide range of programs to foster connection and enhance the quality of life for seniors living in and around Sonoma. Vintage House has a base of 1,400 members/participants and is well-known in the area. Benefits include:

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Executive Director, this position will develop and implement the strategy to grow our current $500,000/year fundraising efforts via major gifts, events, grants, and annual giving. This position works out of the Vintage House offices, one-block off the square in Sonoma.
- Identify and nurture relationships with major gift donors, including individuals, businesses, and charitable foundations.
- Plan and coordinate implementation and assist with marketing of fundraising events, including upcoming 40th anniversary.
- Identify and apply for grant opportunities. Lead the grant application process and ensure effective reporting/administration.
- Lead and grow the annual giving campaign.
- Create communications that will build awareness, foster engagement, and inspire giving across a wide range of audiences.
- Ensure accuracy and implement best practices for record keeping, reporting, and administration.
Ideal Qualifications:
- 3+ years fundraising experience, including:
- Experience identifying and cultivating major gift donors
- Event planning experience
- Grant writing, and identification of grant opportunities.
- Experience leading and strengthening annual giving campaigns
- Excellent writing skills to craft effective messaging for different audiences and purposes
- Commitment to Vintage House’s mission. Knowledge of the Sonoma region and culture is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills to initiate and foster relationships, build trust, and make successful requests for support.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff and volunteers.
- Strong organization and follow through. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Experience with donor databases (we currently use Little Green Light) and MS Office.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. CFRE certification is a plus.
