Crossroads4Hope (CR4H) has been improving the lives of people with
cancer and their loved ones for more than 20 years. More recently,
the organization has undergone significant growth regionally and
nationally in response to the increasing unmet needs of individuals
affected by the disease. As THE safe space for people facing cancer
to turn first to restore their whole being and family, we are on a
mission to reduce the burden of cancer on all those affected,
especially those living in vulnerable communities. Led by social
work principles, most notably social justice, we are experts in
patient activation and delivering social and emotional
interventions. We move individuals through the health crisis caused
by cancer to become activated with the behaviors that enable them
to take control of their health and care through access to
resources and programs of support, education, well-being, and hope.
Crossroads4Hope seeks a philanthropy professional to round
out our development team and lead annual fundraising efforts to
support our exciting work. The Annual Giving and Events Manager is
responsible for building, implementing, and sustaining a diverse
and robust fundraising plan to sustain the organization's annual
operating budget and ensure budget goals are met or exceeded. This
position is also responsible for developing strategies to support
annual fundraising needs, implementing effective special events,
building financial reserves, and supporting at all levels in
partnership with the Board, volunteers, key stakeholders, and staff
to achieve fundraising goals. This position is responsible for
budget development, planning, and implementing strategies and
practices that identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward existing
and prospective donors. The Annual Giving and Events Manager can
build on the organization's existing Fundraising and Communications
Plan while bringing your expertise and creativity to the
strategies. CR4H is a financially healthy and thriving
organization; the new Annual Giving and Events Manager will help
take our fundraising efforts to the next level. Fundraising and
Events
- Builds relationships with key donors, board members, and stakeholders to support the mission and work of CR4H
- Manages a donor engagement plan to cultivate, steward, and acknowledge existing and new donors
- Identifies new funding opportunities that contribute to a diverse and comprehensive fundraising plan
- Maintains an individual portfolio of approximately 75-100 annual donors
- Creates personalized proposals for major individual donors for annual and restricted gifts
- Supports efforts to grow the major gift program by upgrading existing donors and identifying new donor prospects that can be cultivated in partnership with the Board of Trustees
- Actively prospects and solicits new donors and conducts donor research on existing and new potential donors
- Manages the creation and execution of a comprehensive Annual Fundraising Plan and contributes to the development of the Communications/Marketing Plan
- Manages the planning, direction, and execution of annual digital and mail appeals, regular mailings, and communications to donors and key stakeholders
- Leverages existing relationships and creates new connections to secure funding opportunities for various programs and operational expenses
- Ensures all donor cultivation and fundraising events are developed and executed with the mission in mind and delivered in a collaborative, effective manner that honors deadlines and stays within the established budgets
- Manages donor cultivation events and the annual Inspiring Hope Gala in collaboration with board volunteer committees and staff; activities include event planning, development, execution, and volunteer coordination
- Oversees all annual fundraising and event expense budgets and provides accurate monthly and yearly projections
- Coordinates and manages a comprehensive donor database, including establishing best practices and organizational standards, updating donor records based on communication and engagement with donors, and producing reports
- Ensures compliance with the Association of Fundraising Professionals Standards and Practices
- As part of a small operation, is willing to oversee and directly implement each component of the development operation
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of two years experience in fundraising in a non-profit organization or with a comparable organization utilizing parallel transferable skills
- Experience organizing and implementing special events
- Proven experience of having expanded and cultivated existing donor relationships over time
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; Ability to influence and engage a wide range of people and build long-term relationships
- Strong organizational and management skills
- Strategic thinker, skilled in establishing priorities, can creatively overcome obstacles and resource constraints
- Flexible and adaptable style; a manager who can positively impact strategic and tactical fundraising initiatives
- Ability to prioritize competing demands while handling multiple tasks and projects and meeting deadlines
- Ability to work independently, assist with various projects, and be assertive
- Demonstrates inclusivity and equity in all activities and communications
- Passionate about the mission of Crossroads4Hope and willing to be a community representative and advocate of the organization
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, Google Suite, and Salesforce (or another fundraising CRM )

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel as required
