Job Description:

The Data Analyst II is the go-to for all things data- and systems-related and a partner in managing prospect portfolios for the Philanthropy Office (PO). With the goal of increasing fundraising effectiveness and efficiency, this person is responsible for the functionality and continual enhancement of the philanthropy database (Salesforce); prospect management system; and reporting and data analysis. They will design and conduct analyses, develop metrics and goals, build the prospect pool, and assist frontline fundraising efforts. The Analyst will work closely with leadership to develop reports and materials to inform strategic decision making.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for Salesforce database. Identify enhancements, customizations, and modifications to the database to support philanthropy processes and goals.   

Develop, implement, and document data management processes that ensure the integrity and security of information and compliance with fundraising policies and procedures. Monitor and maintain agreed-upon data standards for entry and reporting. Provide training for PO and other colleagues.

Serve as primary contact for PO reporting needs. Develop, validate, and optimize reporting and dashboards to achieve philanthropy goals.

Manage IT projects for PO and liaise with vendors and other departments at IIE to ensure successful and efficient system rollouts, integrations, and upgrades.

Keep abreast of and introduce new fundraising technologies, with an eye toward enhancing operations, improving efficiency, and increasing philanthropy.

Oversee the prospect management system and partner with PO colleagues to manage prospect portfolios. Enhance the internal systems of prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

Produce targeted audience lists for appeals, stewardship communications, invitations, etc.

Assess system requirements and provide systems support for a variety of philanthropy events and projects.

The Institute of International Education (“IIE”) has a hybrid work environment that allows team members a combination of in-office work and telework at any of the locations listed above.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

At least 2 years of database management experience. Salesforce highly preferred.

Proven experience in system configuration and/or implementing enhancements for a development database.

Working knowledge and experience with non-profit fundraising & grants management best practices.

A solid understanding of prospect management and proficiency incorporating prospect tracking data in a relationship management system strongly preferred.

Experience analyzing and synthesizing data sets and producing readable, informative reports and presentations relevant to fundraising. Proficiency with business intelligence platforms such as Power BI a plus.

Ability to analyze and review operational procedures, identify problem areas, and optimize performance through procedural changes.

Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, with ability to establish priorities, balance multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.

Salary Range: $63,299 - $80,954. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, internal organizational equity, and geographic region.
