The Alpha Kappa Alpha Educational Advancement Foundation, Inc. is seeking to fill the position of Program Coordinator. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

The Program Coordinator will direct the maintenance and control of the day-to-day operations of the Foundation’s Scholarship Program and Community Assistance Awards Program. Assist the Program/Scholarship Committee with its annual scholarship applications process, serve as liaison to Regional Coordinators, scholarship and award applicants, members and donors and support the Educational Advancement Foundation (EAF) staff at special events and as needed. Create forms, applications and program marketing materials.  Supervise temporary/occasional employees assigned to assist with scholarship process/awards.

Must have the ability to make independent decisions while enforcing the Foundation’s policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner. Ability to work collaboratively on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure and at times manage a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Desktop Publishing. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and graphic design software a plus.  A written proficiency exam may be required.

The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.

The Alpha Kappa Alpha Education Advancement Foundation (EAF), Incorporated is a non-profit provides funds to advance education in fulfillment of its mission: “To promote lifelong learning.” This is accomplished by securing charitable funds to award scholarships, fellowships, and grants.  The Foundation is a source of support to Alpha Kappa Alpha members, and diverse beneficiaries without barriers on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or disability. Scholarship applications are available in November of each year.
