The Office of Advancement encourages applications for a Program
Manager for Alumni Engagement! The Program Manager will develop,
lead, implement and manage a comprehensive alumni volunteer
engagement program within the College of Engineering and Applied
Science. A major priority of this role is building relationships
throughout the college with faculty and staff to conceptualize,
plan, and implement opportunities to connect and engage alumni as
volunteers with the college in ways that support and promote the
strategic vision. Concurrently, the program manager will focus
efforts externally toward alumni to build a pipeline of volunteers
for the various volunteer roles, lead the college’s alumni
recognition program, and manage the college’s presence in the
ForeverBuffs Network. The program manager is a member of the
college's alumni engagement team within the Office of
Advancement.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be Alumni Volunteer Engagement
- Identifies, develops, and manages volunteer and engagement opportunities within the college and departments for alumni.
- Work with faculty, department chairs and staff department heads or their designee to identify current and future alumni volunteer opportunities throughout the college.
- Assist departments with developing pertinent training materials for their respective volunteer opportunities.
- Foster engagement of recent graduates by supporting the efforts of the Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) Board; Provide logistical and program support of their initiatives, board member engagement, board meetings and events.
- In collaboration with the college's Marketing and Communications team, coordinate messaging and communications to internal and external audiences to promote priority alumni volunteer opportunities via a variety of media including email, newsletters, website, social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and the Forever Buffs Network), event invitations, surveys, brochures, postcards, and other outlets as needed.
- Develop internal streamlined processes to communicate and track volunteer interest and volunteer activity between the alumni office and individual volunteer opportunity managers.
- Use the CRM database and other relevant systems to input volunteer activity, contact reports and pull reports to track progress throughout the year.
- Perform external visits to cultivate relationships with prospective volunteers.
- Create an annual alumni volunteer stewardship plan to recognize and demonstrate appreciation for volunteer activity.
- Propose and manage an annual budget related to volunteer engagement activities.
- Collaborate with the college’s ProReady/Career Services team and departments/programs to engage alumni recruiters and provide opportunity for alumni to support the career and professional development of students.
- Perform online research, benchmarking activities and be actively involved in at least one professional association to support the development and continuous improvement of the alumni engagement office.
- Lead all engagement efforts for the college on the Forever Buffs Network including group member engagement including communications, volunteerism, and mentoring.
- Collaborate with college partners including but not limited to departments, programs and ProReady to create awareness and promote the platform.
- Actively participate in the division-wide Forever Buffs Network Steering Committee.
- Works to support the greater alumni and advancement teams to implement strategic priorities and achieve goals.
- Generate and refer alumni story ideas for print and electronic communications for the college.
- Facilitate the annual awards selection process for the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Awards, Recent Alumni Award, and Alumni Engagement Medal and assist with the nominations of college alumni for awards given by the campus, University of Colorado system, and other awards deemed relevant.
- Serve as the primary liaison from the alumni team for the University of Colorado Engineering Council (UCEC) and all college-affiliated student organizations to support efforts of connecting them with alumni.
- Work with alumni engagement staff to assist with the planning, promotion, and execution of alumni and student engagement events, with opportunity to take ownership over certain events if the need and skills align.
- Actively participate and support college advancement events and initiatives as necessary.
- Undertake other support duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.
