The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford (Pitt-Bradford) invites applications, nominations, and expressions of interest for the Executive Director of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement.

This important position serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet, reports directly to the President, and positions the President to maximize his potential as a fundraiser for the University. Serving as the University’s chief advancement officer, the successful candidate will lead the Office of Philanthropic and Alumni Engagement (PAE) and is responsible for developing, implementing, and achieving comprehensive annual and multi-year fundraising goals, including objectives for annual giving, major gifts, planned gifts, and capital campaign fundraising. This position also works regularly with volunteer leaders, including members of three volunteer leadership boards: the Advisory Board, the Pitt-Bradford Alumni Association Board, and the Bradford Educational Foundation Board.

Other key responsibilities include overseeing a comprehensive constituent engagement strategy that involves alumni, parents, community members, and other friends in meaningful ways; collaborating with the Office of Communications and Marketing to maximize fundraising effectiveness through communications and public/community relations; supervising and developing Office of PAE staff to help them reach their fullest potential; successfully soliciting foundation and corporate support; effectively managing advancement services to ensure a robust data architecture and database; and recommending and managing the budget for the Office of PAE.

The ideal candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree is preferred. Must have excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to sustain effective working relationships with internal and external constituencies. Demonstrated high standards of personal and professional integrity. We seek a candidate with at least five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience in fundraising and management in an institution of higher education; a proven track record in major gifts, comprehensive campaigns, planned and deferred giving, corporate and foundation solicitation and annual fund programs.
