Why NHCS?

Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS) is a tuition-free open enrollment charter school for grades K1-12 in Dorchester that is a public alternative to traditional district schools. We serve nearly 800 scholars across two campuses predominantly from the neighborhoods of Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan. We believe in the social-emotional well-being of our scholars and know that a well-coached and supported educator is instrumental in helping our scholars both academically and in their social-emotional growth. We do not give up on kids. Our expectation is that all of our scholars thrive at NHCS, graduate from high school and pursue post-secondary education on the path to life success. Our educators are partners with our scholars and their families as they embark on this path.

What is the Director of Development Role?

Our Director of Development cares deeply about engaging with our donor community, and takes a strategic approach to building and strengthening relationships while raising funds to support NHCS’ programmatic goals. You will work across both of our campuses, building knowledge of our programs to be an effective ambassador, leading our Development Team’s fundraising and donor engagement efforts with communications, events, outreach, and follow-through to ensure that we achieve our annual fundraising goals and grow our community of supporters.

This position is a year-round Leadership Team position with full benefits and six weeks of vacation. Salaries for this position are based on education and experience. Someone coming to us with five years of Director level experience or other related experience can expect to make $100,000.
