The Annie E. Casey Foundation is dedicated to building a brighter future for millions of children, youth and young adults by improving educational, economic, social and health outcomes. The Foundation’s work focuses on strengthening families, building stronger communities and ensuring access to opportunity because children, youth and young adults need all three to succeed. Casey advances research and solutions to overcome barriers to success, help communities demonstrate what works and influence decision makers to invest in strategies based on solid evidence.

At Casey, you will find a dynamic environment with staff of diverse backgrounds and perspectives who share a deep commitment to advancing the Foundation’s mission. Casey staff also have flexible schedules, including a hybrid workweek, to support a healthy work-life balance.

The Foundation is seeking a professional to support a number of cross-functional strategies that align with the Family Well-Being Strategy’s Group priorities focused on engaging child welfare systems, families and communities to prevent unnecessary foster care involvement, supporting kinship caregivers, ending the need for group placement, advancing permanency and promoting connection to school, work and other opportunities. This role will partner with young people, families and communities on solutions that will lead to more equitable results.

 As a program associate, you will:

  • collaborate with partners on the design and implementation of strategies aimed at advancing permanency and promoting greater connection to school and work to improve outcomes for older youth and families who have experienced the child welfare system;
  • provide content expertise on child welfare practice, including prevention, as well as a number of cross-cutting best practices, such as equity and inclusion, youth, family and community engagement, data and evaluation, and public will and policy;
  • inform, guide and provide technical assistance to partners and grantees, including engaging in strategic planning, implementing work plans, tracking progress through performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement, advising system leaders, facilitating roundtable discussions and building capacity for equitable results;
  • support effective teamwork, including keeping meeting notes, preparing client-facing documents, organizing team files and managing logistics; and
  • facilitate sessions focused on building consensus, setting goals, planning reform and tracking implementation and results among site stakeholders

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human service field; a graduate degree preferred
  • At least three years of work experience in child welfare; lived experience with the child welfare system can be substituted for one year of work experience
  • Strong administrative, organizational and communication skills to implement and oversee complex projects
  • The ability to operate with diplomacy and build authentic partnerships with a focus on equity and inclusion
  • Proven ability to work effectively independently and as part of a diverse interdisciplinary team
  • Intellectually curiosity and strong interpersonal skills and savvy

Please submit your resume and a cover letter describing how you fit the qualifications above, why you are the best person for this job and why working for the Foundation as a program associate interests you. The Foundation will not consider resumes submitted without a cover letter.  Applications accepted on a rolling basis with review and interviews beginning by March 18.  Read the full job description and apply online at www.aecf.org/about/jobs
