Summary: Make the Road PA seeks an experienced, effective, and creative Development Director with 3-5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
Location: Philadelphia, Allentown, or Reading, PA
Travel: Travel within eastern PA will be required 2-3 times/month.
About Make the Road PA:
Make the Road PA was launched in 2014 and, over the last few years, has quickly become one of the largest Latinx organizations in the state of Pennsylvania. MRPA now runs three robust organizing centers in Reading, Allentown, and Philadelphia. We have a strong, engaged membership base of Black and Brown working-class people, primarily in Latinx communities. We have a strong track record of local and state campaigns, large-scale mobilizations on federal issues, large-scale civic engagement work, and active leadership among key progressive organizing groups, coalitions, and tables across the state.
About the position:
Make The Road PA is seeking a full-time Development Director to work closely with the Executive Director to oversee MRPA’s fundraising landscape and potential donor pool. The role will play a critical part in securing philanthropic funds, building out an individual donor pool, fostering relationships with potential donors and foundations under the direction of the Executive Director to continue MRPA’s vision.
Job responsibilities:

Build and maintain donor
relationships;
Create a positive, respectful
reputation for the organization;
Facilitate strategy meetings with
fundraising staff;
Find potential donors from the public
and private sectors;
Manage relationships with the
organization's financial partners;
Prepare and present reports on
fundraising activities to senior management and board of
directors;
Serve as grants administrator, write
grant proposals and acknowledgments for grants received. Ensure
compliance by the organization of terms stipulated in the grant
award;
Produce grant content monthly;
Build out the individual donor base,
prioritize cultivating donors for the organization;
Build out federal, state, and city
RFPs;
Bottomline prospecting and supporting
the team on reporting;
Bottomline and collaborate with the
team in launching the end of year fundraiser;
Write thank you letters/notes to
donors;
Coach, train, and develop grant
writing for the Senior Leadership Team;
Create and/or collaborate with a team
for training materials in relation to fundraising;
Collaborate in coalition with
organizational partners and allies on joint proposals.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work
experience, plus 3-5 years of experience in writing grant
proposals, individual donor relations, and grant
reporting;
Proven experience in the development
of fundraising strategies;
Impeccable writing and project
management skills;
Valid U.S. driver’s license;
Experience working with
government-issued grants preferred but not required;
Experience with fundraising for both
501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations, preferred but not
required;
Experience working in organizing,
paid or volunteer, preferred but not required;
Spanish proficiency or fluency
preferred but not required.
