Position Summary              
Trinity College seeks a staff that reflects the changing demographics of our student body. Reporting to the Director of Alumni Relations, the primary responsibilities of the assistant/associate director will be to work with volunteers to develop, build, and support regional programming for alumni. This entails recruiting alumni to serve as volunteers in various capacities, developing a regional volunteer framework, and maintaining effective communication with them to support and increase overall alumni engagement with all facets of the College. This role will be an integral part of our efforts to engage our campus partners in an effort to bring the varied aspects of the College to our broader alumni body, including, but not limited to, faculty panels and presentations, regional career development and networking opportunities, alumni speakers, social gatherings, and more. The ideal candidate is creative, enjoys pursuing new ideas, has a growth mindset, and can strategize to see an idea through inception to final execution. They must work collaboratively, be self-driven, and have the ability to evaluate programming and make necessary adjustments to better achieve stated goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate event details and communications with alumni volunteers and/or campus partners to execute regional events.
  • Identify and recruit alumni to serve as regional volunteers and/or work with Advancement team on identifying hosts for regional events.
  • Develop regional programming and either self-execute or steer alumni regional volunteers in their planning and execution of these events.
  • Develop or boost existing digital channels that support alumni connection and communication.
  • Serve as liaison between the Alumni Office and the Trinity College Alumni Association (TCAA) Area Clubs Committee.
  • Support major on-campus events such as Reunion and Homecoming as needed.
  • Attend regional events as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of related work experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work well in fast-paced and stressful environments
  • Good time management skills with the ability to prioritize work
  • Excellent human relations/customer service skills with the ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Effective communication (written and oral) skills
  • Public speaking and skills to develop presentations
  • Ability to evaluate information, interpret and analyze data, and develop reports
  • Skill in program planning, implementation, and management
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with leadership, faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders/constituencies
  • Ability to uphold a professional code of ethics and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to manage change, adapt to new expectations, and learn new skills
