Catlin Gabel School is in search of  an Annual Giving and Communications Director for their Advancement Department.  The Annual Giving and Communications Director is an integral role on the Advancement team, leading the Catlin Gabel Fund and assisting in achieving annual fundraising goals. The Annual Giving and Communications Director is the point of contact with the school’s marketing-communications team for all annual campaigns, responsible for coordinating digital and print appeals, participation campaigns, and direct marketing emails to support events. We are seeking someone highly skilled in fundraising communications who understands the annual giving cycle, best practices, and can lead our team through strengthening the fund's success. This is an exciting time to join the Advancement Team at Catlin Gabel School as we enter the public launch phase of our $37M comprehensive campaign, the largest and most transformational campaign in the school's history.

 

Success in the position will be evaluated based on the individual’s ability to support the Advancement Department in achievement of their goals, which includes:

  • Supporting Catlin Gabel Fund (CGF) goals in both dollars raised and participation targets through fundraising appeals and other innovative approaches.
  • Coordinating and executing a calendar of annual fundraising campaigns including a Fall Appeal, Giving Tuesday, End of Year, and Spring Give Day.
  • Writing appeals, writing content for Auction catalog, functioning as a written “voice” of external Advancement documents.
  • Managing ongoing relationship with Marketing-Communications team, and collaborate with outside vendors, as needed, to create collateral to support appeals and other program needs.
  • Tracking expenses and ROI on appeals to share out at team meetings.
  • Providing on-site event support, including occasional evenings or weekends.

Salary: $70,000-$75,000/year

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least three years of fundraising experience.
  • Knowledge of annual strategies, including direct response fundraising, donor segmentation approaches, and volunteers preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, and experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar donor databases. 
  • Knowledge of design programs (In Design, Illustrator, etc.) preferred.
  • Knowledge of project management software (Asana) preferred.
  • Required to have a valid driver’s license and personal transportation vehicle available for frequent local business meetings (mileage is reimbursed under federal guidelines).
  • Ability to work on the road and/or work outside of normal business hours and on weekends
