Foundation Associate Development Officer

The Foundation for Morristown Medical Center located in Morristown, NJ, a member of Atlantic Health System, is seeking a full-time Officer to work with the Director of Annual Giving (DAG) and the Director of Gift Planning (DGP).

The Development Officer collaborates with these two Directors to assist in planning, executing, and growing the Annual and Planned Giving programs.

This position will also be a revenue-producing position and carry a portfolio of individuals. Superior attention to detail, a proactive approach, and excellent communication skills as well as exceptional professionalism a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily use of Raisers Edge (RE) donor database and active engagement in the moves management process through the entry of actions, tracking of meetings and next steps
  • Will assist with the Board of Trustee reports and year-end reporting
  • Draft PowerPoint presentations, donor briefings, strategy sheets, and proposals for meetings/tours and events
  • Assist with donor cultivation events and work with the Events Manager
  • Serve as a fundraising liaison for a specific service line at Morristown Medical Center, with a specific annual goal in support of the hospital area or department
  • Work with the Directors of Annual Giving and Gift Planning in establishing annual performance benchmarks to measure and evaluate the performance
  • Partner with the DAG to manage the telemarketing program
  • Develop and focus on an employee-giving program
  • Strategically utilize data to inform, create and evaluate new avenues for acquisition as well as review current strategies
  • Employ multi-channel direct marketing vehicles, including direct mail, telemarketing, and various digital tools to increase the dollars raised
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit a portfolio of Gift Planning donors and prospects, developing appropriate strategies, timelines, engagement plans, and stewardship
  • Work closely with the Major Gifts team to develop and enhance opportunities for blended gifts

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three to five years of fundraising experience or experience working at a non-profit; planned giving experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, while maintaining attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to both lead and work in a team environment
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills with the ability to be proactive and resourceful
