WHO We Are:
The Center for Responsible Lending (CRL) is a nonprofit, non-partisan organization working to ensure a fair, inclusive financial marketplace that creates opportunities for all. Through research, legal analysis, policy development, and state and national advocacy engagement. CRL fights for economic equity for underserved communities—particularly Black and brown communities and low-to-middle income families.
WHAT You'll Do:
- In collaboration with the Director of Development, take a leadership role to continually upgrade the overall stewardship program and lead in its implementation.
- Write coherent, organized, and compelling grant proposals, reports, and other solicitation or stewardship communications to funders.
- Work with Director of Philanthropy to prepare proposal budgets and detailed grant reports.
- Identify, vet, and cultivate prospective institutional supporters including foundations, corporations, and others.
- Assist CRL in identifying and pursuing opportunities to expand its presence among potential allies, partners, and funder conferences, webinars, and other means.
- Coach CRL team members who interface with funders and provide ongoing education for staff on “best practices” in donor relations and stewardship.
- Work with the Communications Team to feature and highlight donors and donor impact.
WHAT You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent with a minimum 5 years of related experience such as major gifts fundraising or nonprofit management OR equivalent related experience;
- Ability to cultivate and nurture relationships with key supporters and potential donors. ·
- Statistical analysis and Project Management skills

Knowledge of the principles of fundraising and a demonstrated track record of success in fundraisers and in dealing with donors.
- Demonstrated computer skills, particularly with relational databases; experience with Salesforce and Raiser’s Edge, a plus.
