Position Summary
Trinity College seeks a staff that reflects the changing
demographics of our student body. Our student body is diverse,
representing 41 states and 70 countries, with 21 percent U.S.

Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Alumni Relations, the
Officer/Assistant Director focuses on student and young alumni
engagement, as well as supports the department’s digital
communications and event programming efforts. This position will
grow young alumni engagement by first fostering relationships with
students and then guide them into a pathway to volunteerism and
engagement as they become alumni. They will work closely with the
Senior Associate Director of Alumni Relations to strengthen digital
engagement and communications. Specifically, they will grow the
presence and visibility of Trinity Alumni social media platforms by
closely monitoring the accounts and creating engaging content,
building appealing email campaigns, and various other tasks
including querying reports, and crafting surveys. This position
also recruits, hires, and manages up to 50 student workers who are
a critical component to the success of our annual Reunion Weekend.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Students
- Engage current students by reinstating student ambassador programming (or similar) and other initiatives to introduce students to the office and strengthen the young alumni volunteer pipeline.
- Spearhead the Senior Achievement Award process working with campus partners to gather nominations and select awardees.
- Manage up to 50 Reunion Student Workers including recruiting, hiring, scheduling, training, supervising, and managing time-sheets.
Young Alumni
- Create a process of engaging young alumni that includes, but is not limited to, event programming, surveys, check-ins, and any additional methods of maintaining a connection to the school and keeping contact information updated.
- Develop a young alumni volunteer committee to work with the office as we build better ways to engage with this constituent group.
Communications
- Partnering with the Senior Associate Director, grow alumni office social media visibility by monitoring accounts and creating engaging content. Current accounts include Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
- Create and execute email campaigns for the office, and sometimes the division, following College standards.
- Prepare reports and metrics relating to emails, events, social media, and other College initiatives.
Other
- Support/staff regional and on-campus events as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 1-3 years experience
- Ability to work nights and weekends
- Passion for social media content creation
- Creative and strong problem-solving skills with a growth mindset
- Highly effective communication (written and oral) skills
- Good time management skills with the ability to prioritize
- Excellent human relations/customer service skills with the ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
Desired Qualifications
- Skill in program planning, implementation, and management
- Experience in managing volunteers and/or students
- Experience in an email marketing platform
- A degree from, or familiarity with, Trinity College
