The Campaign Manager is a new role dedicated to managing the Clark Art Institute’s $100 million+ campaign, inspired by its recently adopted Strategic Plan. This position reports to the Chief Advancement Officer and will be responsible for the day-to-day planning, coordination, and management of the campaign. The Campaign Manager oversees all aspects of a multi-faceted, multi-year, multi-phased campaign. This is a fulltime project-based position for a period of at least 24 months.
Minimum Starting Salary: $ $84,000
Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Collaborate with the Director, Chief Advancement Officer, Campaign Committee, and others to implement a campaign throughout its various stages—quiet, major gift, and public phase.
- Provide strategic as well as technical oversight of the campaign.
- Assist in the development and execution of strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of current and new donors.
- Maintain an organized and detailed prospective donor pipeline.
- For solicitations, organize (and prepare, as needed) all materials, from prospect research to customized briefing to bespoke proposal.
- Develop appropriate and ensure timely donor acknowledgment and recognition (thank you letters, donor listings, and the like).
- Maintain annotated table of gifts, list of recognition opportunities, gift acceptance policies, and pledge agreements.
- Support the Campaign Committee; organize meetings, prepare materials, track follow up, provide one-on-one training for volunteer fundraisers if need be.
- Assist in strategizing and executing campaign cultivation and stewardship events, in conjunction with the Senior Development Officer for Special Events.
- Provide necessary campaign updates and numerical analysis to the Campaign Committee, Board of Trustees, Director, Chief Advancement Officer, and others as needed.
- Oversee campaign-related materials (case statement, bespoke proposals, written and electronic external communications, reports, invitations etc.), in conjunction with the Development Officer for Campaign Communications as well as the Department of Communications.
- Maintain comprehensive timeline.
- Manage campaign budget.
Education, Training, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.
- Demonstrated success with fundraising, ideally experience with campaigns.
- Knowledge of development practice, principles, ethics, and activities, including include gift policies, solicitations, stewardship, administration, and working with high-level volunteer committees.
- Effective computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Raiser’s Edge and/or other CRMs.
- Entrepreneurial and goal-oriented development leader.
- Excellent communicator in verbal, written, and presentation forms; strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact positively with a wide range of constituencies in person, via Zoom/Teams, telephone, on email and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, follow through on projects, and to be proactive and solution-oriented.
- High level of integrity and demonstrated judgment.
- Ability to work independently and as well as part of a small, highly efficient team in a fast-paced and challenging atmosphere.
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience preferred.

- Work Environment: Work will be performed in an office environment and museum spaces. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Overnight travel will be necessary.
