We believe in the power of good. We believe that a few good deeds can have a tremendous impact. We believe that when people come together around a shared purpose, we can make the world a better place. We also believe that good deeds should be recognized and celebrated. This is what Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Senator Robert Taft, Jr. and Sam Beard believed.

We believe in the power and capacity of young people. And we believe that when you lean in to help someone else, it does something incredibly powerful for the individual. We combine these two believes to engage teenagers to choose their own service passions – and use service as a pathway to create the kinds of leaders our nation so badly needs.

There is a specific gap in America that Multiplying Good is helping to close. Seventy percent of high schools require service hours to graduate, yet service for the sake of service does not impact the skills or growth of participants. Scholarly research shows that students who participate in skills-based service learning display increased soft skills, civic engagement, empathy, self-efficacy, positive racial understanding, career trajectory, workforce readiness, leadership and presentation skills. Multiplying Good is scaling exactly this experiential learning to young people across the Bay Area - with a goal of 100 sites in five years!
