THE OPPORTUNITY
As a national model for homelessness, Chapman Partnership addresses the most basic human rights and needs to restore the dignity and respect of individuals experiencing homelessness. Far beyond the expected food, housing, clothing and laundry facilities of a typical emergency shelter, Chapman Partnership’s empowerment model is built upon wrap-around services that incorporate effective programs (cradle to career) and caring support to achieve self-sufficiency.

Since 1995, we have transformed the lives of more than 130,000 individuals. From tackling tent cities under highway overpasses to supporting the community through a global pandemic, Chapman Partnership has celebrated over 25 years of amazing progress and achievements.

While Chapman Partnership has elevated its operations since February 2020, meeting the needs of more than 2,500 individuals and families with children experiencing a housing crisis, the demand in the community has never been greater. Miami is challenged by a lack of affordable housing with six in 10 employed adult residents identified as cost-burdened, meaning they spend more than 30% of their incomes on housing – the highest rate of any large metro in the nation.

Addressing homelessness is complicated, and Chapman Partnership embraces the needs and dignity of all residents, whether single men, single women and families; those motivated toward self-sustainability, those who are temporarily traumatized, those with no motivation to do much of anything; skilled individuals who have hit hard times, the elderly without family support; and those battling addiction or mental health challenges.

Inheriting one of the preeminent housing nonprofits in the country at such a critical moment, this is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and altruistic leader to build upon the success of Chapman Partnership’s nationally renowned model and drive the organization’s evolution towards a new vision of continued growth, programmatic innovation and lasting impact.

Chapman has incredible resources inclusive of a talented staff, strong organizational structure, an outstanding Board of Directors, great community support and an important partnership with the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust. The next CEO will build on this foundation to further raise the effectiveness of its powerful programs and better empower its residents toward self-sustainability.

Among many qualities, the next President & CEO will bring deep passion for the mission of Chapman Partnership, particularly the need to bring the dignity and hope that comes with safe and secure housing, and a profound understanding of the challenges of poverty and systemic inequities. The incoming leader will bring exceptional leadership and management skills, phenomenal fundraising prowess, expertise building meaningful relationships and groundbreaking partnerships, and inspirational communication to galvanize community support for the powerful mission and work of Chapman Partnership.

This is a great opportunity for a compassionate, fearless, and forward-thinking leader to further accelerate Chapman Partnership’s work of rewriting pathways to end homelessness that will truly change the landscape in South Florida and beyond, today and into the future.

ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND
Chapman Partnership serves as the private sector partner to the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust, commissioned by the Trust to operate two Homeless Assistance Centers located in Downtown Miami and Homestead. Chapman Partnership offers a comprehensive, holistic approach through on-site services and partnerships to empower residents to overcome housing instability and achieve and maintain long-term self-sufficiency.

Chapman Partnership annually links 4,000 residents to a suite of programs and services critical to growth and independence, including stable housing; job training and placement; medical, dental and psychiatric care; Head Start for children ages birth to 5, and afterschool and summer programming delivered through its Family Resource Center for children ages 5 and up; as well as benefits access that supports housing stability goals; and various life skills programs for parents and caregivers that nurture healthy family outcomes. Collectively, programs are designed to augment quality of life outcomes that promote reductions in poverty and expand economic opportunities, while building community assets that support a more equitable society and contribute to a healthy and vibrant Miami-Dade County.

Commitment to Equal and Social Justice
Together as a community, we are witnessing a historic time in our country as people from all walks of life demand racial and social equality. Since our inception more than 25 years ago, Chapman Partnership has been an advocate of equality for people of all backgrounds. It has been our mission to ensure that the more than 800 men, women and children we serve nightly have equal access to essential basic needs such as housing, education and employment opportunities.

We remain committed to ensuring that we have a welcoming and inclusive environment where all of our residents are empowered to reach their potential and become self-sufficient. We are an organization where people of all backgrounds, cultures and viewpoints can thrive. Through our programs and services, we ensure our residents receive access to affordable housing, career and job training, health and wellness services as well as educational support for our youth.

At Chapman Partnership, we give ALL people hope through the work we do each and every day to help transform their lives. We support the movement of change in our country; a movement that empowers those who have historically suffered from injustice and inequality. We advocate for the necessary change needed to ensure every man, woman and child in our nation is hopeful for a better tomorrow TODAY.
