Assistant Vice President of Advancement

Reporting to the President, the Assistant Vice President of Advancement is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and managing all fundraising, philanthropy, and Foundation-supported work, including overseeing communications and branding functions.  Unique interpersonal and relational skills shape the development and maintaining of relationships across the college, and external to the college, including with donors, alumni, faculty/administrators/staff, as well as facilitating business/industry support and investment in STCC. 

LEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT/RESPONSIBILITIES:

STCC Office of Advancement

  • Develops and implements a comprehensive philanthropic/development plan to strengthen the College's overall advancement/fundraising strategies and goals;
  • Implements an annual giving plan, including goals/metrics, as well as leads and facilitates capital and other campaigns, to aid college sustainability aligned to the strategic plan;
  • Brings a renewed focus to alumni fundraising, including strategies for inclusion in annual giving, as well as with participation by alumni on the STCC Foundation Board;
  • Develops a systemic approach to major gift solicitation, including engagement of STCC faculty/staff to leverage their expertise in connecting potential donors to the STCC mission;
  • Supervises STCC Office of Advancement; to include employee supervision, contractor oversight, donor database management, student scholarship application process, fundraising and gift receipts/deposits, and systems of acknowledgement;
  • Accountable for strategy and operational oversight of STCC marketing and communication, including supervision of staff and contractor(s);
  • Curates the production of all college communication and marketing materials and mediums, including college eNewsletter, campaign materials, college-issued reports, as well as social media;
  • Provides operational oversight to WTCC radio station, including supervision of radio station manager; ensures compliance with FCC and any state/federal regulations;

STCC Foundation

  • Serves as Executive Director of the Foundation in accordance with Chapter 15A, Section 37 of Massachusetts General Laws; 
  • As Executive Director of the STCC Foundation, and in consultation with college administrators and Foundation Board Chair: manages budgets, ensures internal/fiscal controls, coordinates external audit, confers with investment contractor, and establishes guidelines for the distribution of Foundation funds; to include student scholarships and program-specific funding support;
  • Establishes a comprehensive recruitment, orientation and engagement system for members of the STCC Foundation Board of Directors;

General/Other

  • Works collaboratively with other offices and administrators, including Cabinet;
  • Provides leadership and logistics oversight for college events in all forms;
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

 
REQUIREMENTS:

  • Eight (8) years of experience in advancement/philanthropy that includes fundraising, campaigns and donor relations;
  • Demonstrated collaborative leader, characterized by excellent written and verbal skills, and introspective interpersonal relations;
  • Demonstrated fundraising success with a focus on major gifts, including an ability to specifically manage using deadlines and project-management technology and software;
  • Three (3) years of supervisor experience;
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred; higher education experience preferred;
  • Knowledge of accounting and investment procedures; knowledge of Blackbaud/Razor's Edge a plus;
  • Ability to work evenings/weekends; a limited telework schedule is possible in accordance with college policy.  This position requires a commitment to significant time in-person, on campus.

Work Schedule:  Full-time; Exempt

Salary Information:  $125,000 - $135,000 annually
