Director of Development & Marketing, Animal Welfare Industry

Suncoast Humane Society is looking for an accomplished, strategically minded, results-oriented development and marketing professional to serve as its Director of Development & Marketing. In partnership with a dynamic and energetic Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Development & Marketing will plan, supplement, and lead the strategic direction of an advancement program that includes annual giving program, grants administration, web site maintenance, social media, and overall brand strategy. The ideal candidate will have had experience implementing administrative and operational activities in an environment in which measurable data are used as a benchmark of performance . They will also have proven success in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding. The candidate will be a highly motivated individual, able to work in a fast-paced environment, be flexible, display good written and verbal communication skills, and be a team player. This role is charged with the marketing of all activities related to Suncoast Humane Society, including the animal care center (shelter), satellite adoption centers, preventive health care clinic, and two thrift stores, and more. Additionally, this role helps develop marketing strategies for social media and advertising, and is responsible for promotional materials, press releases, e-newsletter, e-blasts and maintaining the website. This should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of the role responsibilities. Experience in graphic design, Word, Excel, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop is essential.
