Main purpose of the role:
To oversee the strategic planning and operation of the foundation, in support of organisational mission and goals. The Executive Director provides leadership, direction, and support to the Board in developing organisational goals, attaining/allocating resources, and establishing policies
Hours:
Up to 5 days/week
Key responsibilities:
Foster and manage stakeholder relationships, including current and prospective fundholders, donors and board members/trustees. Proactively provide helpful and relevant information and respond in a timely manner to questions and service requests.
Ensure the Foundation runs compliantly, legally, and effectively, liaising with the Management Team as appropriate
Ensure the effective operation and delivery of programmes and services
Respond to enquiries from prospective fundholders regarding Foundation services, providing information regarding the various options and corresponding details
Serve as primary contact for in-country service providers, such as for bank, brokerage, etc.
Review and make determinations for all fundholder applications and due diligence reports
Perform, with support from the Global Foundations Administrator, Know Your Donor checks to establish donations are reputable and legitimate
Plan and conduct quarterly board meetings, ensuring all governance work is completed and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements
Work with the Head of International Philanthropy to develop your Foundation’s 1- 3- and 5-year strategy
·Build and maintain relationships with relevant authorities and regulators and keeping up to date on local fundraising and charity/non-profit administration laws and regulations, including tax benefits
Work collaboratively with the other Chapel & York team members to provide appropriate services for fundholders, cross-selling memberships and services, and providing a holistic service to fundholders
In partnership with Marketing and the Head of International Philanthropy, implement strategies to promote growth, profile, and funding both individually for your Foundation and as part of the Family of Foundations, including speaking at and attending events, writing articles, contributing social media content and other materials as required
Work with the Chapel & York IT and Marketing departments to ensure the Foundation webpage, other outlets and communications are current and accurate
Work with the Head of Finance to provide budgeting and financial information as required, and ensure strategies are executed within budget
Identify, recruit, and develop effective board members
·Assist and provide guidance to the Chapel & York Foundation back-office team in donation processing, identifying donors’ details, etc. as required locally
Review the annual Declaration of Use of Funds notifications from fundholders, to ensure they are in line with the Foundation’s objectives
Keep appropriate records, updating the CRM (Zoho) and other systems (such as Beacon) as required
