Director of Development

The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) is the preeminent global non-profit organization providing an independent source of technical and policy expertise on clean transportation. Our mission is to improve the environmental performance and energy efficiency of road, marine, and air transportation, in order to benefit public health and mitigate climate change.

We are looking for a Director of Development to lead our global development efforts during a phase of rapid growth at a critical time in the fight against climate change. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, and in close collaboration with the Executive Director and wider senior leadership, this newly created position is responsible for deepening relationships with our funders in support of the mission and activities of the ICCT. The ICCT currently raises many multi-million dollar grants annually from foundations and government agencies. This position manages the development team and our expanding funding pipeline. The Director of Development promotes a culture of philanthropy in ICCT and partners with colleagues across the organization, particularly with communications colleagues, to demonstrate ICCT’s impact on the planet.

This full-time position will ideally be based in either the Washington DC area or San Francisco Bay Area. ICCT has flexible working policies that will enable a hybrid home and office working arrangement. The salary for this position is $176,000 USD with potential market supplements for Bay Area candidates.
