We’re looking for a full time Director
of Special Events to join our Development Team!
Job
Summary: Supports the Chief
Development Officer in ensuring the delivery of the fundraising,
public relations and marketing support needed to meet the Northeast
Arc’s (NeArc) mission. Plans and implements, oversees event
operations, and manages associated internal and external
communication strategies. Tracks and meets/surpasses all
revenue goals associated with each special event and
initiative.
Major
Responsibilities:
Special Events/Fundraising:
Manages NeArc’s signature special
events (Golf Tournament; Run for Inclusion; Evening of Changing
Lives Gala; Pickleball for a Purpose). Establishes and
manages an Emerging Leaders committee. Oversees
all NeArc affiliated fundraising initiatives:
Develops and maintains a master event strategy and
timeline.
Recruits and engages event specific volunteer committees,
develops communication strategies, benchmarks, and solicitation
prospects.
Negotiates all vendor relationships pertaining to each
event.
Oversees production of all event-related marketing
materials.
Utilizes current databases and fundraising platforms and
identifies new opportunities to ensure efficient dissemination of
information and generation of revenue.
Manages all special event donor acknowledgement and
stewardship.
Develops and maintains special events and initiatives summary
report and shares with CDO on a bi-weekly basis.
Annual Fund:
Serves as lead for development, segmentation, production and
distribution of two annual appeals.
Ensures the Holiday Appeal is delivered the week prior to
Thanksgiving with a Giving Tuesday digital appeal to coincide, and
the End of Fiscal Year Appeal drops by June 1st (Minimal
Financial Goal of $100k).
Coordinates all appeal collateral and negotiates with and
manages all associated vendors.
External Communication:
Develops and implements an organization-wide social media
policy to include scheduled postings and content.
Develops and implements an organization-wide event strategy and
serves as the main point of contact for all 3rd Party and
program-related fundraisers.
Consolidates all social media to no more than three accounts
(with exception of outward facing businesses i.e., black box,
breaking ground, etc.).
Attends networking opportunities to serve as Northeast Arc
Brand Ambassador with goal of prospecting new supporters,
stewarding current supporters and spreading awareness.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, master’s preferred.
Minimum five (5) years relationship management experience.
Experience managing and coordinating signature events,
sponsorships and logistics.
Prior social media, external communication, and public
relations/marketing experience required.
Customer service and executive support experience
preferred.
Ability to manage multiple social media channels at once and
manage reporting and strategic analysis. Aptitude for learning
3rd party software programs that support digital marketing,
design, and public relations materials.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with attention
to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with
ability to interact with high level constituents.
This position requires on-site availability at our Danvers, MA
office.
