The Database Administrator is responsible for managing The Hartford Bishops’ Foundation Raiser’s Edge database system.  It is the responsibility of this position to maintain data integrity and protect confidentiality while providing accurate mailing lists to vendors for mailings, and in-house requests for mailing lists and analytical reports, in addition to updating the database with information of pledge and gift processing provided by outside vendors.  The Database Administrator makes independent decisions (within the scope of the position) and is involved with new and varied work situations. 

Essential Functions:

  • Manage the Raiser’s Edge database for the Hartford Bishops’ Foundation, Inc.
  • Interface all gifts, pledges and event registrations on a timely basis; manage pledge redemption process for fundraising campaigns, including serving as a liaison to third party vendors
  • Provide administrative support to facilitate acknowledgement of gifts and pledges within three business days of receipt/recording
  • Oversee the entry of information for donor records to provide a comprehensive profile on the constituent.
  • Lead augmentation and clean-up of existing data sources prior to entry and ensure constituent data is fresh, current, and as comprehensive as possible to ensure the most effective use of all the information available; maintain schedule of data refresh projects (monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Create standard and ad-hoc reports to support analytics and benchmarking, prospect identification, stewardship (birthdays, condolences, etc), events and marketing
  • Liaison with the Archdiocese of Hartford offices (IT, Development, etc.), parishes, and vendors to define and document information requirements and drive the development of the business processes and workflows
  • Implement and manage the business and technical processes and workflows associated with the Raiser’s Edge database system; additionally, manage all business solutions including database maintenance, training, user adoption, and customization
  • Oversee the fundraising system that supports programmatic operations and the organizational mission
  • Identify and resolve systems-related conflicts
  • Provide status on systems to leaders and other stakeholders, as assigned
  • Produce donation, transaction and financial reports, as requested by team members
  • Conduct annual situational assessments; interpret constituent data using guiding analysis and segmentation efforts; and work collaboratively with other members of the organization to develop strategies for leveraging constituent data to advance the work of the organization
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data, including input and output, technology management, and end-user training and support
  • Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities, as assigned
