Senior Director of Development and Unit Lead, College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences

 

Bryant Group is excited to partner with the Clemson University Foundation to recruit the Senior Director of Development and Unit Lead for the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences for Clemson University.

 

The Opportunity

The Clemson University Foundation seeks a collaborative, strategic fundraising leader to provide coordination and management of all levels of giving for all units and programs in the College. Working with College Adminstrators and the Executive Director, the Unit Lead will develop priorities and pantropic strategy to inspire stakeholders to support the priorities of the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences (CECAS) in support of Clemson University’s vision and mission.

Position Description

Participating in the University Development Team’s Unit Lead Cohort, the Unit Lead for CECAS reports directly to the Executive Director of Development. Serving as the primary liaison and mission critical link between the Advancement Division and the College, the Unit Lead will work collaboratively with Dean of CECAS to establish and execute a plan for successfully creating and implementing a strategy to identify and support new opportunities for increasing donor engagement to support the initiatives CECAS. The Unit Lead will create opportunity for cutting edge student and faculty research for global impact through strategic philanthropic service. 

 

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree and have at least three years of progressive experience in fundraising, development with a proven track record of soliciting gifts of $50K and above, and experience raising $2m per year. Experience working in higher education setting is preferred.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, coach and mentor internal support team members to achieve fundraising and performance goals/objectives.
  • Fundraising: Managing a portfolio of prospects with fundraising goal of $1.5M or higher on an annual basis.
  • College Leadership and Engagement: Establish strong partnership with the Dean and strategic leaders within the College for upcoming capital campaign. Develop philanthropic strategy that advances the key priorities for the campaign and the College’s mission.
  • Strategic Collaboration and Facilitation: Utilize relationships with the Dean and other key leaders to advance the philanthropic strategies and priorities of the College.
