This is a unique opportunity to both support the CEO of the global organization by coordinating stewardship efforts and gain development experience as IWF works to meet and exceed its annual revenue goals and generate a strong financial base for the future. Reporting to the IWF Development Director, this position will be responsible for the day to day management of the office of the CEO and fundraising and stewardship activities associated with both corporate and individual giving efforts. Responsibilities will include:

 

Assistant to the CEO Responsibilities:

  • Provide sophisticated calendar management for the CEO and Development Director – Prioritize multiple appointments while troubleshooting conflicts, make judgements and recommendations to ensure smooth day-to-day engagements, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to manage scheduling.
  • Prepare meeting and travel logistics, including arranging detailed travel itineraries.
  • Prepare CEO and Development Director ahead of upcoming meetings, events, and speaking engagements, keeping the CEO well informed of upcoming commitments, as well as conducting research and gathering relevant information as needed.

 

Development Manager Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and outreach to potential corporate partners and individual donors that could support the IWF programs.
  • Implement a development plan to support the annual giving campaigns; this includes developing marketing and social media plans, appeal content, and acknowledgment process.
  • Support IWF’s sponsorship activities, assisting in the relationship management and logistical planning for IWF events.
  • Prepare partnership proposals and pitch decks for new and existing supporters.
  • Help prepare Board and Committee documents for governance meetings.
  • Maintain accurate information in Salesforce, IWF’s CRM tool.
  • Act as one of IWF’s ambassadors to members, donors, and partners, meeting their needs and fostering their participation in the organization.
  • Exercise fundraising best practices and identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures.

 

Qualifications: The position calls for an individual with excellent project management and relationship building skills. The Assistant to the CEO and Development Manager should exhibit a commitment to IWF’s mission and possess the following professional qualifications and personal attributes:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience in in senior level support, fundraising, grant writing, event management, and/or non-profit operations.
  • Record of creatively identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to deepen engagement and increase gift levels.
  • Proven verbal and written communications skills including experience in writing acknowledgment letters, appeals, and fundraising proposals. 
  • Ability to solve problems resourcefully, work independently, and switch tasks efficiently.
  • Sensitivity and respect for the diversity of IWF, its membership, and constituencies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using CRM tools; Salesforce experience preferred.   
  • Interest in gender issues, women studies and/or international relations, a plus.

This is a full-time position and with the option for a hybrid schedule. However, given that this is an Assistant to the CEO role, up to 4 days in the office may be expected. Only candidates in or willing to move to the DMV area will be considered. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. The candidate must be fluent in English and must have a high degree of integrity and work ethic.
