Vice President for University Advancement

Georgia College & State University (GCSU) seeks a dynamic leader to serve as its next Vice President for University Advancement and Executive Director of the Georgia College & State University (GCSU) Foundation, Inc.

Georgia College & State University is the state's designated public liberal arts university—where practical education meets transformative, real-world experiences. At GCSU, a liberal arts education goes beyond simply memorizing facts and philosophies. The GCSU liberal arts curriculum teaches students how to navigate the complexities of life, assess the world around them, and become critical thinkers. GCSU's skills-infused approach provides students with an advantage that employers are looking for and expands the personal and professional lives of their graduates.

The university offers undergraduate and graduate education and serves more than 7,000 students in the following colleges: the College of Arts and Sciences, the J. Whitney Bunting College of Business & Technology, the John H. Lounsbury College of Education, the College of Health Sciences, and the John E. Sallstrom Honors College. With its sprawling idyllic campus and talented faculty and staff, GCSU stands at the forefront of offering a holistic liberal arts education. Its students are engaged citizens who are encouraged to think independently and lead creatively as they acquire the skills to navigate life-long challenges.

Georgia College & State University is one of 26 institutions in the University System of Georgia (USG) and consistently ranks among the top three universities within the USG in terms of student success, student retention, and graduation rates. GCSU also ranks 21st on U.S. News & World Report's Best Regional Universities - South and is recognized as a top university in the nation by the Princeton Review, Forbes Higher Education, and Kiplinger's. Georgia College & State University is located in historic Milledgeville, Georgia: a charming, diverse college town of approximately 19,000 residents in Central Georgia, approximately 90 miles southeast of Atlanta.

Cathy Cox became Georgia College's 12th President on October 1, 2021. A native of Bainbridge, Georgia, and former Secretary of State, Cox's distinguished career in law, education, politics, and journalism embodies what it means to have a liberal arts background.
