The Development Officer builds mutually beneficial, long-term partnerships between Griffin Hospital and individual donors. The Officer will develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of new and existing donors. This position reports to the Executive Director of the Development Fund.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify, cultivate and solicit prospects and donors, working creatively with the Director and hospital leadership
- Design and implement stewardship strategies
- Develops, writes and presents proposals in alignment with hospital priorities and donors’ interest
- Track and report progress using specific metrics
- Participate in after-hours community events
- Participate as an important member of the Griffin Hospital Development team, assisting in other activities and initiatives as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Demonstrated experience, success, and progressive responsibility in fundraising with a minimum of five years experience
- Experience motivating and managing volunteer leadership and senior leadership staff
- Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge database and Microsoft Office Suite
