The Development Officer builds mutually beneficial, long-term partnerships between Griffin Hospital and individual donors.  The Officer will develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of new and existing donors.  This position reports to the Executive Director of the Development Fund.

 RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Identify, cultivate and solicit prospects and donors, working creatively with the Director and hospital leadership
  • Design and implement stewardship strategies
  • Develops, writes and presents proposals in alignment with hospital priorities and donors’ interest
  • Track and report progress using specific metrics
  • Participate in after-hours community events
  • Participate as an important member of the Griffin Hospital Development team, assisting in other activities and initiatives as needed

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Demonstrated experience, success, and progressive responsibility in fundraising with a minimum of five years experience
  • Experience motivating and managing volunteer leadership and senior leadership staff
  • Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge database and Microsoft Office Suite
