Imagine LA is seeking a Director of Development (DOD) to (1) strategically build, implement, and manage a comprehensive fundraising program of a $2.1 million fundraising goal, and (2) oversee all communications and community engagement activities, including successful family fun events. As a key member of the Leadership team, the DOD oversees the Development & Communications Department and reports to the CEO and partners with them in maximizing the impact of the Board of Directors.

The ideal candidate has fundraising experience with demonstrated success in leadership, budgeting, grants, major gifts, and communications, and a deep understanding of the relationship between organizational strategies/goals and development. Successful candidates have:
- Demonstrated history of progressively responsible fundraising experience and success through donor cultivation, foundation relations, and grants.
- Proven knowledge of all areas of fundraising, with a particular emphasis on major gifts, to identify, cultivate, solicit, secure, and steward prospective donors and funders with the capacity to make gifts of $10,000 or more among potential corporate, foundation, and individual funders.
- Established track record in planning and achieving goals, creating a plan outlining activity with the ability to think strategically and creatively about engaging donors, and to develop plans of action and follow through for seven-figure annual budget goals.
- Exceptional writing, storytelling, and influencing communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain cooperative and successful working relationships with volunteers, staff, and donors. Management and/or supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to serve as a team player and leader that models and contributes to an inclusive team culture with constructive feedback, accountability, solution-oriented, project management, and multitasking skills and a positive attitude.
- Proactively takes leadership to create opportunities with strategic partnerships, build and implement initiatives, and report on department objectives and ongoing fundraising activities.
