Position Summary
This is a hybrid full-time position located at NYP’s Midtown Manhattan Corporate Office. Reporting to the Director of Corporations and Foundations, the Officer will be part of the Corporate and Foundation Relations team within the Development office at NYP. The incumbent will work directly with the Director of Corporate and Foundations Relations, development staff, program leaders and physicians and is responsible for implementing and coordinating a successful NYP corporate and foundation strategy and work plan to maintain and attract partnerships for funding priorities across the entire hospital network. This includes conducting prospect research, cultivating new relationships and stewarding current donors to enhance relationships, developing opportunities and securing funding from national/local corporations and foundations focused on NYP priorities across the enterprise; Recommends and oversees best practice systems and processes for the fundraising lifespan - prospecting, proposal development, solicitation and relationship management; and employs analytics and data for making evidence-based decisions and analyzing effectiveness/success.
Essential Job Duties
- Maintain current knowledge of the funding needs within the scope of responsibility; conduct prospect research and identify prospective corporate and foundation donors for those needs; plans strategies from cultivation activity to gift closure and implements that strategy in coordination with appropriate physicians; maintain a team partnership tracker and report progress toward achievement.
- Facilitate the Director in all aspects of prospect research, planning, launching, and maintaining a robust corporate giving program.
- Facilitate the Director in securing gifts from institutional foundations and stewardship of current donors.
- Oversee the proper receiving and acknowledgement of all gifts and propose appropriate recognition to donors.
- Monitor the stewardship activities related to gifts, implementing reporting schedules where needed.
- Record fundraising activities into Salesforce.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Director.
Required Criteria
- A bachelor’s degree and at least 3-5 years of corporate and foundations fundraising experience with proven success soliciting and closing $50k+ gifts in a hospital, or non-profit setting preferred.
- Experience managing and tracking multiple prospects and corporate and foundation donors.
- Excellent people skills, including written and oral communication skills.
- Strong data and analytical skills, including a strong knowledge of Excel, prospect research and fundraising databases (Salesforce a plus).
- An understanding of corporate social responsibility and foundation giving programs
- Demonstrated ability to navigate within a fast-paced highly complex organization. emphasizing teamwork, respect, and excellence.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.
