The Major Gifts Officer is an integral part of Fulfill’s Development team, reporting to the Vice President of Development & External Relations. We are looking for someone who is passionate about our mission to eliminate food insecurity and who has the skills to cultivate and solicit major gifts from individual donors. The Major Gifts Officer will be responsible for managing a portfolio of major donors and prospects, developing and implementing strategies to engage and cultivate donors, and soliciting gifts. Our development team and organization is in growth mode, so we are looking for someone ready to help build and lead an excellent major gift program as the first person in this position.

 

In this role, you will manage Fulfill’s major gift program; oversee our individual giving program and create solicitation strategies, lead gift research, and cultivate relationships with prospective donors.  In addition, you will mine major gift prospects for information about their motivations, interests, and passions, help our donors accomplish their philanthropic goals and ambitions, develop and encourage relationships; assist staff and board members in creating and maintaining the relationships they hold, providing appropriate timelines and metrics to that end and manage systems and software to track and cultivate donors and prospects, including our moves management, donor database, and wealth screening tools.  You will also be expected to develop proposals and presentation materials, develop and organize donor recognition programs; acknowledge major donors through public and private recognition and contribute to the organization’s fundraising goals and objectives.

 

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of proven experience soliciting major gifts and cultivating major gift relationships or other similar roles, excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, strong public speaking skills along with the ability to engage and persuade others and experience using a donor database, prospect research, and other wealth screening tools to aid in our moves management process.
