Director of Alumni Fund Leadership Giving

The Williams Alumni Fund gives all 30,000+ alumni the opportunity to make a difference for current Williams students each year. Of the ~$14m raised by alumni in current unrestricted operating dollars each year, nearly 75% come from leadership donors making individual contributions of $2,500 or more—these leadership donors represent just 7% of all alumni donors.

As Director of Alumni Fund Leadership Giving, you will help alumni with financial capacity maximize their annual impact for Williams through gifts of $2,500-$250,000. You will build and strengthen systems to support peer-to-peer asks made by alumni volunteers, and facilitate the cultivation and stewardship of leadership donors to Williams. You’ll also collaborate deeply with Senior Development Officers and maintain a portfolio of alumni leadership prospects.

Responsibilities

The Director of Alumni Fund Leadership Giving is responsible for all aspects of the leadership giving program, including volunteer training, cultivation and stewardship events, and coordination of solicitations across the volunteer, alumni engagement, and major giving teams by working in close partnership with colleagues and working directly with alumni prospects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of non-profit fundraising experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience working with volunteers, leadership giving programs, and leadership giving donors
  • Excellent organizational, oral and written communications skills, and you routinely exhibit the flexibility to creatively conceive and adapt different approaches to varied constituencies
  • Experience as a project manager, and experience collaboratively setting goals while planning for their achievement and evaluating outcomes
  • Direct experience in soliciting, negotiating, and closing leadership gifts, and thrive in an entrepreneurial mindset while working as part of a highly functioning team
