The Development Coordinator is responsible for the operational and fundraising activities in the Smith School of Business including, but not limited to, the administrative functions for the front-line fundraising team, Chief Development Officer (CDO), Donor Relations/Stewardship, and alumni relations activities. This position collaborates on the daily activity of the CDO, including scheduling, preparing briefings, maintaining a special events calendar for the office, and coordinating the involvement of faculty and staff in cultivation activities. The Development Coordinator, with the CDO, oversees the unit’s events budget and tracks expenses and payments.
The Development Coordinator works with the Advancement Services database, the BlackBaud Fundraising Performance Management platform and other university databases. They will produce reports to help monitor budgets and donations to assist the CDO in tracking performance metrics and to detail the progress of programs and initiatives. They participate in the preparation of cultivation/stewardship materials including donor acknowledgements, email newsletters and have responsibility for providing constituent data to issue event invitations. They are also responsible for assuring completion of contact reports and follow-up for further donor cultivation.
The Development Coordinator works with the offices of alumni relations, prospect research, experiential learning and career services to identify donors for the pipeline and actively contribute to the annual development plan for the Smith School. They are responsible for respecting confidentiality of alumni and donor records and they will understand and follow all university policies.

Attendance at events during and after regular office hours and weekends may be necessary. Limited travel, primarily in the College Park area, is necessary.
