Location: Seattle, WA

Organization: Washington’s National Park Fund

Title: Chief Executive Officer

Washington’s National Park Fund seeks an inclusive, strategic, dynamic leader and passionate ambassador for its mission. The Chief Executive Officer will grow and expand WNPF’s impact through a collaborative, partnership-driven approach.

Washington’s National Park Fund is the official philanthropic partner to Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks. Its mission is to raise private support to deepen everyone’s love for, understanding of, and experiences in Washington’s three national parks. WNPF supports projects to keep parks strong and vital now and forever for everyone.

WNPF exists to fill gaps in much-needed funding for programs and projects that enhance visitors’ experiences, enable research, rebuild trails, support volunteers, and improve accessibility in the parks. We bring together individual donors, corporations, small businesses, and foundations to collectively invest in addressing the parks’ needs; 100% of funds raised sustain and enhance these parks.

Core Areas

Each year, WNPF partners with park superintendents to identify a minimum of 18–24 priority projects requiring additional funding. All priority projects fall into one of four core areas:

  • Advancing Science and Research
  • Improving Visitors’ Experiences
  • Expanding Volunteerism and Stewardship
  • Embracing Inclusion

Appointed by and reporting to the board of directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has overall strategic and operational responsibility for Washington’s National Park Fund’s staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission. The CEO must develop a deep knowledge of Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks’ core programs, operations, and business plans. The CEO’s primary objective is to keep today’s momentum going well into the future while partnering with a strong board; hardworking and committed staff; and Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks, which are highly committed to and engaged with Washington’s National Park Fund.

Washington's National Park Fund aims to bring a broad range of backgrounds and life experiences to Washington’s National Park Fund through new members on the board of directors, leadership, and staff.

Compensation

A competitive compensation package, including a comprehensive benefits package, will be offered based on experience. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $110,000–$150,000. Qualified candidates outside of the range will be considered.

Location

WNPF headquarters is in Seattle, WA. The CEO will work in a hybrid model and manage a remote team. Frequent travel to locations throughout the parks system, meetings with donors, local events and speaking engagements, onsite meetings, and partner meetings are expected.
