The Program on International Financial
Systems (PIFS) is looking to hire its first full-time
fundraiser to work in partnership with the Executive Director and
President to maximize private support for PIFS.
PIFS’ head of fundraising should
have experience successfully leading fundraising efforts at a major
University, preferably Harvard, and soliciting donations as well as
managing relationships with donors from the financial sector. PIFS’
head of fundraising should preferably have experience working
directly with high-net worth individuals and relationships with
foundations and corporations. PIFS’ head of fundraising should have
at least 10 years of fundraising experience.
PIFS’ head of fundraising would
lead all of PIFS’ fundraising activities, including renewals and
growth of annual sponsorships of PIFS’ events, training and
research and manage other fundraising duties as needed. Existing
PIFS’ sponsors generally include large international financial
institutions as well as high net worthindividuals from the
financial sector.
PIFS’ sponsors typically support
specific events, training and research activities. PIFS’ events
include three annual international symposia each held for over 20
years—US-China, US-Europe and US-Japan. Harvard Law School is the
non-financial sponsor of PIFS’ events. PIFS’ training activities
include week- long programs delivered at Harvard Law School for
government officials and regulators, as well as virtual training
programs. PIFS’ research is project-based and focused on policy
issues impacting the global financial system, such as crypto
marketregulation.
PIFS’ head of fundraising would
draft and deliver presentations/solicitations virtually and
in-person. PIFS’ head of fundraising would design an operational
structure to report fundraising progress to PIFS’ Executive
Director, President and CFO. PIFS Executive Director and President
would provide strategic guidance on fundraising efforts and also on
occasion meet with existing and prospective large donors to
PIFS.
PIFS is also launching a new
fundraising effort for general donations from
high-net-worth-individuals that would not be for specific events or
programs. Instead, this newfundraising effort is intended to grow
PIFS’ regulatory training and research efforts overall. PIFS’ head
of fundraising would help lead this effort.
The role would be hybrid whereby
PIFS’ head of fundraising would have to be in-person at PIFS’
offices in Cambridge, MA for 2-3 days a week. The approximate base
salary would be $150,000 with a performance-based bonus.
