Partnership with Children provides critical counseling,
school-wide services, and family and community outreach in New York
City public schools most impacted by the effects of
poverty and trauma, so students can reach their full
potential. The ideal Community School Director is
an ambitious leader, who is passionate about social justice, and
committed to empowering students, families, schools and
communities. The Community School Director is a leader and change
agent in the school building, working side by side with the
principal and our social work staff to build and implement a
community school program.
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Institutional
Giving Manager will manage and grow a portfolio of foundation
and corporate funders that support major organizational
initiatives, working cross-departmentally to develop proposals that
uplift the achievements of the students and families across PWC’s
network of school partners. The successful candidate will support
the development team in cultivating and stewarding strong
relationships with current and prospective funders, with the goal
of fostering sustainability through increased private institutional
support.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- In collaboration with program staff, develop and write compelling grant proposals that advance Partnership with Children’s mission, core strategies, programs, and engage current and prospective funders
- Steward and build upon a portfolio of five to six-figure foundation and corporate funders that support PWC’s programs and initiatives; foster strong relationships to renew and increase support; and identify opportunities for new support
- Manage the complete cycle of grant funding, including proposal development, grant reporting, and stewardship, working in collaboration with PWC staff and funders to ensure alignment between programmatic objectives and funding priorities
- Serve as liaison between development department and program staff, helping to refine goals, objectives and desired outcomes, track the progress of grant-funded initiatives, and ensure all grant obligations are fulfilled
- Collaborate with Chief Development Officer on a communications plan to ensure all funders are kept informed of timely or breaking developments
- Facilitate preparation and coordination for all institutional funder meetings and site visits; represent PWC at funder meetings or gatherings as needed.
- Coordinate with Director of Development Operations, and Development Associate to ensure timely and accurate gift entry and acknowledgment processes
- Support maintenance of donor information in Salesforce and other drives, and contribute to additional development systems to track funder relationships and uphold data integrity
- Support additional fundraising projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Commitment to demonstrating PWC’s organizational values of Collaboration, Continuous Learning, Going to Solution, Equity & Inclusion, and Passion
- Bachelor's degree required; 3-5 years of experience developing successful grant proposals for large corporate and foundation grants and sustaining funding relationships
- Superior writing, editing, and communication skills; ability to synthesize information and interpret data in a clear and compelling narrative
- Strong time-management and organizational skills, including ability to develop and maintain best-in-class systems, policies, and tools that directly support institutional giving and the overall development department
- Proficiency with prospecting tools and other nonprofit resources such as Candid and Charity Navigator
- Broad understanding of the philanthropic, educational, mental health, and equity landscapes;
- Expertise in cultivating an array of internal and external working relationships with finesse
Salary and Benefits:
Salary range is 70k to 80k. All full-time employees receive an
excellent benefits package including health, dental, and vision
insurance, a 401k retirement plan with employer match, life
insurance, Flexible spending Account/FSA, Commuter benefits, and
twenty four days paid annual leave per year, plus four Summer
Fridays and 12 other paid holidays.
