Wright State University is seeking a full-time Director of
Development for College of Health, Education & Human Services
to raise private gifts from alumni and friends in support of
university and college fundraising priorities; build long-term
relationships with donors and prospects on behalf of the university
and college; solicit gifts of at least $25k and ranging up to
six- and seven-figure gifts to support scholarships, endowment,
capital, programmatic objectives, and discretionary funding; work
with the dean on strategic funding priorities; manage 200 assigned
prospects, conduct 150 visits/year and submit 20 proposals
annually; other duties as assigned.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of related experience.
- Documentable success in business, higher education, or sales environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices associated with fundraising or business development.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills & attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to handle complex and confidential information.
- Highly motivated to make contacts resulting in multiple personal visits each week.
- Ability to think strategically and translate that thinking into targeted goals and actions.
- Ability to ask for and close major gifts.
- Demonstrated skill in making fundraising or sales calls and business presentations.
