Position: Program Associate

Reports to: Director, Community Advocacy & Partnerships

Status: Full time/Exempt

Location: Remote

Salary: $44,000-50,000 based on experience and geographic location

Who is YSC?

In 1998, a group of young women, all diagnosed with breast cancer before age 40, gathered in New York City and had the first YSC meeting. They had all personally experienced that young adults were missing from the research, community and conversations about breast cancer. Twenty five years later, these needs still define YSC’s work. Young adults diagnosed with breast cancer face higher mortality rates, fertility issues and the possibility and ramifications of early menopause.  From our grassroots beginning, YSC has grown into an international movement. Today, YSC has more than 120 Face 2 Face local networking groups,  a vibrant online community, educational and supportive resources, and the largest conference program dedicated exclusively to young adults with breast cancer and their co-survivors. What are we looking for?

YSC seeks a highly motivated, creative individual to provide support with program implementation, project administration and completion, as well as administrative tasks related to supporting YSC’s Mission Department. The candidate will be detail-oriented, excel at multitasking and can take on significant responsibilities – working both independently and as part of our team. The candidate must be willing to occasionally travel, as occasional travel is required to meet the responsibilities of the position.

What will you be doing?

Support Project 528 (YSC’s global needs assessment). This includes specific tasks such as:

Maintaining tracking reports Communicating with external stakeholders including medical experts, partner organizations and project ambassadors  Collaborating on data review, analysis, presentations and reports Identifying prospective partners and ambassadors Working with YSC’s Marketing & Communications Content Manager to support the project’s promotion

Play an active role on YSC’s Mission Team and contribute to the meaningful work:

Collaborating with all YSC Directors and others on the team to move planned projects through implementation and evaluation including:
YSC’s in-person and virtual conferences Organizational research and legislative/policy advocacy initiatives Supportive services activities Volunteer engagement Department communications and data input Internal program assessments Program evaluation Assessment of constituent needs
Work on special projects as needed and assigned.

Qualifications: What are we looking for?

2 years of relative experience in a professional setting

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience Experience with data analysis Experience working with various stakeholders Communicates clearly and concisely in both verbal and written communications Commitment to excellent customer/constituent service High level of professionalism and verbal/written communication Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace Previous use of Salesforce is a plus

The salary for this position is $44,000-$50,000/year, taking into account geographic location and years of experience. Young Survival Coalition is an equal opportunity employer. While physical presence within the Eastern Time Zone is not required, alignment with Eastern Time Zone hours may be necessary on occasion, accommodating the majority of YSC employees who follow this schedule. Occasional travel to YSC events is required.
