Interlochen Center for the Arts invites you to join our team as a Philanthropy Writer, where the power of words becomes a force for transformative change. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Create compelling narratives that vividly portray the impact of philanthropic contributions on our students, faculty, and the Interlochen community. These narratives will encompass donor impact stories, case statements, fundraising proposals, thank-you letters, and reports.

Craft donor publications, including annual reports, endowment reports, campaign case statements, and other campaign materials, transforming data and achievements into engaging narratives.

Immerse yourself in the world of Interlochen through interviews and research, ensuring a profound understanding of our programs, initiatives, and achievements. Translate this knowledge into captivating and emotionally resonant content.

Oversee the Philanthropy content and calendar for Interlochen's online magazine 'Crescendo,' ensuring timely and impactful coverage of donor stories and philanthropic initiatives.

Manage content for Philanthropy's 'Giving to Interlochen' webpage, ensuring that it reflects the transformative impact of philanthropic giving and effectively engages online audiences.

Provide philanthropy slides, content and event remarks to include in Leadership Team presentations, conveying the significance of donor support and its role in shaping the arts at Interlochen.

Assist the Director of Foundation Relations with the writing of grant proposals and reports, contributing your expertise to secure funding for Interlochen's mission and programs.

Serve as the Philanthropy Office's primary proofreader, ensuring grammatical accuracy and adherence to Interlochen's style guide, maintaining the highest standards of written materials.

Uphold Interlochen's values and mission through your work, maintaining a consistent and authentic voice in all written materials while adhering to brand and messaging guidelines.

Collaborate closely with Philanthropy team members, especially major gift officers, along with Interlochen faculty and staff, alumni, donors, and stakeholders, harnessing collective insights to enrich and authenticate your narratives.

Participate in donor stewardship efforts, ensuring that our valued contributors receive the recognition and appreciation they deserve for their unwavering support.

Demonstrate flexibility, including occasional availability for work during nights and weekends, to accommodate the needs of philanthropic events and campaigns.

Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.

Minimum of three years of professional writing experience, ideally within philanthropy, nonprofit, arts, or fundraising communications.

Exceptional storytelling abilities with a talent for crafting narratives that engage, inspire, and evoke emotion.

Strong research skills, capable of distilling complex information into accessible and persuasive content.

Unwavering attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in writing, editing, and proofreading.

Proficiency in adhering to brand guidelines and maintaining a consistent tone and voice.

Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.

Familiarity with arts education or nonprofit organizations is advantageous.

Excellent organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Working knowledge of the Google Suite of tools required.

Experience with a CRM preferred, SalesForce experience is helpful.
