The Major Gifts Manager is responsible for raising major gifts (ranging from $5,000 to $100,000 plus) with multi-year commitments for Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital. The goal will be to raise major gifts annually using the existing portfolio and building the pipeline of new funders. This position will supervise one development position within the department. Responsibilities include:

  • Raise major gifts, including multi-year commitments and capital campaign projects.​
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit prospects for major gifts and bequests to support programming, operations, endowment building, and capital improvements.
  • Manage a comprehensive cultivation tracking system for all major and planned gift donors and prospects, both in the donor database and hardcopy.​
  • Manage Juliette Low Legacy committee staffed by volunteers with the goal of recruiting 10 new members per year.​
  • Coordinate with the Development team members to identify donors for the transition from annual participatory gifting to the major gift level, as well as potential planned giving donors.​​​



  • Minimum two years of experience in major gift fundraising with at least one year of management experience of an intern.
  • University degree or equivalent in commerce, marketing, administration or related areas.


Location: This position is Hybrid.

Salary: $80,000 (The salary listed is one component of the total compensation package for employees.)
