Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships

Bryant Group is partnering with the University of Alaska Foundation to recruit a Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships. 

 

The Opportunity

The University of Alaska Foundation is seeking an experienced principal gifts professional for the role of Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships. This 100% remote role will have the opportunity to lead a transformative fundraising effort by cultivating and soliciting high net worth individuals, foundations, corporations and philanthropic venture funds throughout the Lower 48. 

 

Collaborating closely with esteemed chancellors and gift officers from the University of Alaska Anchorage, the University of Alaska Fairbanks and the University of Alaska Southeast as well as the University of Alaska Foundation team, the senior director will enhance donor engagement efforts and strategically position the universities for future gift opportunities. This role offers a chance to make a lasting impact on Alaska Native communities by supporting programs that uplift indigenous populations while contributing to educational equity and cultural preservation.

 

The Essential Functions

  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of donor prospects throughout the Lower 48 states. Ensure donor contacts are well documented.
  • Collaborate with UA Foundation staff, university leadership and fundraising colleagues to develop strategies to link donor interest with transformational philanthropic opportunities.
  • Prepare proposals and related materials to potential funders in coordination with the UA Foundation and universities as required. Support proposal development that is led by university staff or departments.
  • Plan, manage and implement special projects relating to the UA Foundation and UA System’s development and advancement programs.

 

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in philanthropy, communications, marketing, public relations, business, public administration or other field.
  • Minimum of seven years of related experience in a similar position that includes a heavy emphasis on philanthropic relationship building and private gift proposal writing in the Lower 48 states.
  • Proven track record of securing significant grants and donations from foundations, corporations, grantmaking institutions, philanthropic venture funds and high net worth individuals and families in the Lower 48.
